Mechanically removable label.
Abstract
Labels are described which are made from paper, aluminium, plastic film or combinations thereof, which are removable mechanically and by machine from glass and/or plastic bottles or other commercial articles of all types, such as bottle crates or the like. For this purpose, the labels are provided with at least one substance which can be activated to adhere to the article. A distinction is made between a first substance, which makes the mechanical removal possible, and a second substance which is applied to the back thereof and possesses adhesion-promoting properties. The first substance is a release layer which is proof against water of condensation and has a particular solids content and a processing viscosity which is selected in a defined manner. The second substance, which imparts adhesive properties, is applied in the form of a gluing pattern, with a glue pallet offset backward along the edges of the label, in such a manner that removal forces are obtained for the label of between 2 and 8 Newtons. <IMAGE>

The invention relates to a paper, aluminum, plastic or compositions thereof like existing, mechanically detachable label for application to glass and / or plastic bottles or for the identification of marketable objects of all kinds, such as bottle crates or with at least one of adhesion to the article activatable substance einarbeitbaren one in the label material and / or on the back which can be applied, the mechanical detachment includes enabling first material and an adhesive applied to its back second with respect to item adhesive properties comprising material. Such labels are used as abdominal and thoracic labels as well as labels and back Halsfolierung particularly in the beverage market a wide range of applications. The high filling speed, for example, beer bottles with up to 70 000 bottles per hour, the extremely varying weather conditions, which are subject to such bottles, and stringent environmental conditions in connection with the cleaning of the bottles recovered product provide both the labels themselves as well as their printing and gluing in many respects, very high demands.
Especially the latter problem, so the bottle cleaning of the return, for example, in a brewery empties, pointing to a broad spectrum of problems and tasks, ranging from the heavy metal removal through special handling of pollution loads that Laugensedimentation and liquor neutralization to waste water disposal with their elaborate cellulose fiber removal. The known developments improved paper quality, the use of special printing process and the selection of suitable and environmentally friendly inks brought here as yet no solution breakdown.
peelable labels for promotional purposes, for example by hand known whose advertising objective is verhittelt using the label back, where such labels specially coated back side coatings exhibit that the mechanical loosening of a glass bottle, but make relatively low take-off speed.
For high-speed process of the aforementioned type, which apply not only to the filling process and thus for the labeling of bottles, but equally to the label peeling in the flowing back empties, this known prior art is not suitable.
On the other hand, a device has been brought into proposal which allows the mechanical peeling of labels, in particular of bottles, also and particularly under the extreme conditions in breweries. The mechanical separation takes place here before the bottles are placed with liquid, namely the usual wash liquor in contact, resulting in a variety of advantages (DE-OS 37 13 811).
The dry removal of labels before the actual Naßwaschvorgang reduces the recent liquor losses significantly extends the potential liquor periods, resulting in a significant energy saving of the overall cleaning process, facilitates label disposal, can proceed now easily as in normal waste paper disposal in, and reduced as well as causing serious shortening of the overall process flow previously only at great expense-to-get to grips with environmental problems.
It is essential for such a dry disposal are special preparation characteristics of the back of the label or the label material itself. The previously known initial experiments under the aforementioned conditions brewery had not yet led to final findings.
This is where the present invention provides a which is the object, the preparation properties and the cooperating shaping the label back to be designed so that the mechanical drying process with the machines of this provided a safe removal of labels with practically negligible residual residual impurities is possible.
This object is inventively achieved by the features specified in the characterizing portion of claim 1.
The dependent claims disclose advantageous embodiments of this task solution.
The so-equipped, ie provided with special preparation and release properties labels can be in a dry state by brushing machines and water-Projection machines or the like. Almost any residue from bottles but replace also bottle crates and other objects, namely at throughput speeds of filling and thus the labeling speed quite match.
In classical labeling of bottles so doing that in the bundle in the labeling held, on their back on the re-detachment not specially prepared labels rückseitenbeleimt individually by a gluing station via a glue roller, a liquid adhesive is supplied, which is transferred to glue pallets. then the glue pallets are led to the label magazine via an associated pallet carousel. Due to the glue film on the glue pallets located in the facing label magazine to the rear side to the glue pallet labels are removed individually and fed together with the movement of the glue pallet a gripper which takes over the labels intermittently. Pulling off the labels of the respective glue pallet takes place Leimaufspaltung between label backing and range, so that the labels in this case take enough adhesive on the back. The gripper cylinder transports the glued labels on a bottle table, where air by Blas and sponges are transmitted the labels on the bottles and held here. In another procedure, the bottles then undergo a soft brush or Andrückstrecke Schwammdurckflächen to be subsequently released. The backside coating of the present invention with the two material components that are tailored to specific release properties resulting not only in an advantageous manner a problem-labeling, but also shows the durability of the label prior to the bottle return a high weather resistance, the coming of the temperatures in question and humidities is also suitable for extreme weather conditions. In addition to a considerable saving for the liquor subsequent to the mechanical dry separation liquid washing process is shown, moreover, that in addition the previously customary caustic concentration can be reduced considerably, as did the washing temperature at which the bottle washing is done.
A good paper smoothness, particularly for the printability is equally as good flatness for easy labeling requirement and essential requirement for the raw material, as well as weatherability in terms of light, sun and rain influences in a temperature range of at least minus 25 ° C to plus 65 ° C. The aforementioned condensation implies that detachment or even partial dissolution of the label, and in particular of said back coating may occur due to condensation by no means yet but the penetration of the label for the Feuch tigkeitsabgabe from back to front, thus ensuring the necessary Abtrockungsvorgang must remain. For the drying times for cold and Naßabfüllung of bottles, as is well known is carried out at about 2 ° C, times of 20 to 48 depending on the storage conditions, specified h. The release layer must furthermore be such that the pressure applied to it glue in no way dissolves this coating medium or even penetrates Otherwise there will be a preventable in all circumstances bonding with the paper fiber, and thus the desired mechanical detachment is no longer possible. The two materials, ie once the separation medium and the other of the bonding agent or the adhesive layer, must both be played inert, so may show no additional chemical reactions or undergo undesired mixing, they may on the other side, however, not repel, ie to each other such as water and oil behave.
Important and essential is also the Beleimungsbild of the labels, which is shown in a preferred embodiment in FIG. 1. Particularly important here is that the glue does not come with the cut edges of the label into contact, because otherwise there is a bond with the paper fiber in this particular area. In addition to those required for the function change the glue pallet for providing such Beleimungsbildes, can thereby also the glue consumption further reduced. As Fig. 1 shows, the Beleimungsmuster, or the glue pallet L around the entire circumference of the label B reset, virtually values from 2 to 5 mm seem sensible, the central region between the upper and lower gripper recesses G here by a further 2 mm is reset. Otherwise as shown gluing of gridded single Beleimungsfeldern which are bounded by parallel to the longitudinal direction and parallel to the transverse direction glueless tracks. Preferably, the glue-free paths run each in the amount of gripping recesses've been provided with the Beleimungen previously known.
The separation medium is evenly distributed in the embodiment of Fig. 1 across the entire back of the label, and not is oriented towards the predetermined Beleimungsmuster. As the schematic diagram of FIG. 2, however, so-called Sollklebstellen in the form of grid-like arranged dots can also be specified for the separation medium, that is, openings in the rear side release coating of the glue passes through the up into the fiber structure of the label material itself. Such Sollklebstellen are desired for a number of applications, in particular for verification purposes.
The following are in the form of a table still necessary for the inventive preparation of the labels values collected both bottle labels and box labels, as well as information the coating medium in
