EP0304095A2

Catalyst for treatment of exhaust gases.

Abstract

A catalyst for oxidation of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in a gas stream comprises ceria, a platinum group catalyst, high surface area alumina and a p-type oxide dispersed on a refractory substrate, the p-type oxide being in other than bulk form, and a substantial proportion thereof being in intimate contact with the ceria. The p-type oxide may, for example, be nickel oxide, cobalt oxide, iron oxide, manganese oxide, or chromium oxide.
