Vehicle door hinge with a door check.
Abstract
The hinge has a pillar part, a door part, a hinge bolt which connects the two parts pivotably and a door check. The hinge bolt has at least one elongated latching device which is parallel to its longitudinal axis and which interacts with a profiled section on the inside surface of the eye of one part of the hinge. The latching device or parts of the profiled section may be of sprung construction. The door check is not accessible from the outside and is therefore protected against dirt and water. The profiled section is optionally engraved in a profiled leaf which may be supported by a rubber lining. An elastic deformation of the entire eye is also possible.

p0001The invention relates to a door hinge for a vehicle door, with a post portion, a door part, a connecting both parts swivel hinge pin and with a door check for temporarily locking the door in at least one open position in which to hold the door at one hinge part profiling and other on the hinge part a locking element mounted to move with the hinge movement in elastic system relative to each other and the hinge pin anchored rotatably in at least one eye of a hinge part or pluggable and rotatably anchored and pivotally mounted in at least one multi-layer bearing bush in the eye of the other hinge part is.
p0002Such hinges are used in particular on car doors, which usually have a intermediate stop at an opening angle of approximately 45 ° and a final fixation are provided at an opening angle of 80 ° to 85 °. As locking element is a brace-like curved torsion spring, which is immersed by means of small rolling elements in corresponding recesses along the profiling in the locking positions.
p0003The clasp-like torsion spring requires a relatively much space as to achieve a suitable spring force a relatively long clasp must be used. The required volume of construction here reached such an extent that the torsion spring must be housed inside the door body, because of limited space outside the door body is not sufficient to doorposts generally. Accordingly difficult is the seal of the door interior, as a relatively large, irregular opening against ingress of water and moisture must be sealed.
p0004The object of the invention to improve a door hinge of the aforementioned type so that the physical volume of a conventional hinge is only slightly exceeded, succeeds so an accommodation of the hinge in the space between the door and the jamb.
p0005To achieve this object the invention proposes that the hinge bolt is provided parallel to its longitudinal axis with at least one elongate latching element, and that the eye carrying the bearing bush is provided on the hinge pin facing inner surface with the profiling.
p0006The door hinge according to the invention, the entire door hold-open is accommodated inside of the one eye, in which there is also the relative movement during pivoting of the hinge, so when opening and closing the associated vehicle door. Outwardly, the hinge according to the invention of a conventional, simple hinge door without finding is hardly distinguishable, most falls of somewhat stronger hinge pin and the larger-diameter one eye of one hinge part on.
p0007Due to the placement of the door arrester in a confined space to accommodate in said space between the door and the post succeeds in nearly all prevalent vehicles, so that the old method of tilting hinge can be maintained and may also account for the required hitherto door hinge.
p0008In the simplest embodiment, which is however the most advanced, the elastic contact of the latching elements on the profile by an elastic deformation of the corresponding eye is brought about. For this reason, the eye is relatively thin walls, so that it can expand not only annular resilient, but can also in the areas of highest stress also stretch between the individual locking elements, so that in addition to the expansion of an elastic deformation by a temporary polygon shape is achievable. Using highly tempered, tough steels are the occurring elastic deformation s easy to control.
p0009In general total of three locking elements and three profile sections are provided which are evenly distributed around the circumference. In this manner is an angular range of 120 ° available, which is sufficient in view of the usual opening angle for vehicle doors of up to 90 ° readily for each profile area. Each profile section including the final fixation is detected in the maximum opening position.
p0010It comes in the door hinge according to the invention to a particularly firm fit of the hinge pin in the hinge part a of in which the hinge pin is anchored in any case. According to a development of the hinge pin stage is designed so that in the case of a hinge, wherein said the other surrounds a hinge part on both sides, can be provided in the two outer hinge eyes anchorages. Specifically at the thin portion of the stepped hinge pin can then a polygonal profile to be attached, for example, a square or a hexagon, which produces the desired solid rotationally fixed anchoring in any case. Such polygonal profile anchor is also recommended in the case of an embodiment of a pluggable hinge, can be dismantled at the after Einjustierung the hinge as often and remounted without losing the basic adjustment.
p0011When latching elements corresponding projections may be integrally formed from the base material to the studs, notwithstanding, steel needles can be partially embedded in the base material of the hinge pin, which are available as purchasing parts from the field of needle bearings industry. Finally, elastic or elastically supported strips can be accommodated in corresponding grooves of the bolt, which then interact with an inherently rigid mind that not a resilient expansion needs, since the elasticity is obtained from the bars or from the support of the strips.
p0012If the aforementioned highly quenched and tempered steels for supporting the profiling eye are not available, and also a housing elastic or elastically supported locking elements within the hinge pin is difficult, it is provided according to an embodiment of the invention in that the profiling is stamped in a profile sheet, and that between the profiled sheet and the inner surface of the eye, an elastomer layer is arranged, in particular injected. In this way, all the metal parts are not subject to deformation, apart from the slight bending deformation of the profile sheets. The required elasticity, the elastomer layer that can be set in almost any hardness and wear resistance.
p0013In the region of the end stop, it is expedient to support the profile sheet directly on the inner surface of the associated eye, which can be effected by separate feet or by a correspondingly bent edge portion of the blade profile. In this way the effect of the elastomer layer is canceled at this point, thus achieved a special hardening to form the end stop.
p0014Exemplary embodiments of the invention, which are illustrated in the drawings are explained in detail; in the drawing:

Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view through a door hinge according to the invention in a first embodiment,

Fig. 2 is a cross sectional view through the hinge according to the figure 1,

Fig. 3 is a view according to Figure 2 of a central eye in a further exemplary embodiment of a door hinge according to the invention and

FIGS. 4 to 6 are cross sectional views through three different embodiments of a hinge pin with locking elements for use in a door hinge according to the invention.

p00151 shows a door hinge with a post part 1 and a door part 2 is Eder given wi, which are connected by means of a central hinge bolt 6 pivotally to each other. The hinge shown is a type in which the post part 1 is provided with external eyes 4 and 5, the 7 surround a central eye on the door part 2 side. Through the eyes 4, 5 and 7 a through hole 6 is present in of aligned position, which is, however, promoted; the opening in the upper eye 4 is greater than that in the lower eye fifth
p0016The actual pivotal mounting between the two hinge parts 1 and 2 takes place between the central eye 7 on the one hand and the hinge pin 3 on the other by means of two bearing sleeves 10, which are provided for the axial fixation with a corresponding collar. The hinge pin 3 carries at the outer ends corrugations 11, of which in FIG 1 is only shown at the upper end. Since the hinge pin 3 is designed as a stepped bolt, the rotationally fixed anchoring in the upper eye and 4 in the lower eye 5 is particularly simple. Notwithstanding ribbing at the lower end may at this point also a polygonal profile to be present, such as a square or a hexagon, which is immersed in a correspondingly shaped eye. 5
p0017Between the bearing bushes 10, the actual door finding is housed, but which also includes the rotationally fixed anchoring of the hinge pin 3 inside the post part 1 in a broader sense. The hinge pin 3 is fitted in this area with three steel pins 14, which serve as locking elements and embedded into three longitudinal grooves uniformly distributed around the circumference are in part (Figure 2). They interact with three profile blades 15, which are supported on an inner surface 17 of the central eye 7 each have an elastomeric layer sixteenth In the three profile sheets each have the same profile is embossed, which is particularly clearly from FIG. 2
p0018Each profile sheet 15 is at the one side portion so folded that the stands up a free longitudinal edge on the inner surface 17 of the central eye 7th At this point, the elasticity is virtually eliminated because of the supporting elastomer layer 16th The immediately adjacent recess for receiving the corresponding locking element 14 is as good as unyielding to the relevant page and makes the catch, which coincides with the end position lock the door. The adjacent indentation within each profile sheet 15 causes intermediate stop for example at a door opening angle of 45 °. In the figure 2, the closed position is shown in which the locking effect is approximately neutral. Since the opening and closing of the associated door relatively high surface pressures between the steel pins 14 and the profile sheets 15 occur, the entire space is filled with grease, whose whereabouts is ensured by means of two O-rings. In addition, these O-rings prevent the ingress of water and other impurities.
p0019In the embodiment shown in Figure 3 the central eye 21 is formed much thinner walls, and the profiling is stamped directly into the inner surface. The profiles are less pronounced, since less travel is available. The ring-shaped middle eye 21 is namely elastically deformed, so make this deformation, the required elasticity between the three steel pins 14 and the profiling available.
p0020During opening and closing of a carried by this hinge type door, the mean eye 21 expands elastically, wherein it also comes to stretching in the areas between two steel needles 14th So roughly speaking, it is particularly useful for very high profile sites to a triangular deformation, which rotates with the steel needles 14th In order to keep the elastic deformation in the area of the terminal strip 32 to which the hinge part is screwed or welded, as low as possible, is taken to ensure that the highest profile bodies of the three profile sections is placed in the region of the connecting tab 22, since in any case in this area the elastic deformation is the least. In this way, a particularly uniform loading of the thin-walled middle eye 21 is achieved.
p0021In Figures 4 to 6 show variants for the design of the hinge pin 3 and the latching elements mounted thereon are shown. In the embodiment according to FIG 4, the locking elements are formed as locking projections 26 from the base material that can come along with the embodiments according to the figures 1 and 2 and in Figure 3 for use. In the embodiment according to FIG 5 catch strips 27 are inserted from an elastomeric material in longitudinal grooves so as the elastomer layer 16 shall not apply, the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2 or the elastic expansion in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 Instead, the catch strips soft 27 the profile peaks of the profile within the inner surface of the middle eye elastically from. It may be appropriate, 27 to protect the frontal areas of the catch strips by metal caps, which can be held with lateral vanes pivotally mounted on the hinge pin 3, if necessary. By exception they may be vulcanised to the elastomer strip 27 strip-like caps. In the embodiment according to FIG 6 composite lock strips 31 are present which carry on their end face turn steel needles 32nd The self-rigid composite lock strips 31 are supported by springs 33 elastically in the hinge pin 3, the springs can be spread 33 over the entire length; it may for example eight relatively hard small coil springs per composite locking strip 31 for use.
p0022The elastomer layer 16 in the embodiment according to the figures 1 and 2 is claimed not only in the radial direction on pressure, but also very strong in shear, since the steel needles try 14, upon rotation of the central eye 7 to the fixed hinge pin 3, the profile sheets 15 take. For this reason, it may be expedient to make the inner surface 17 of the central eye 7 large area, ie provided with a ribbing for better adhesion. In addition, the surface-engaging on the inner edges of the profiled blades may in corresponding grooves (not shown) can be inserted, so that at this point a rotation lock already exists.
