EP0249212A2

Hand held manually sweeping printing apparatus.

Abstract

A hand-held manually sweeping printing apparatus includes a manually manipulatable housing. A data input section, a memory, a printer head, a roll of ink ribbon, and an encoder are mounted within the housing. When a user holds the microcopier and sweeps it across a piece of paper, the printer head can print image data on the paper. Since the printer head is movable in response to various conditions caused by the pressure applied to the piece of paper, or surface conditions of the paper, a high-quality printing is realized. The data input section may be replaced by an image sensor, in which case the information on an original can be read and reproduced on the piece of paper.

  1. 1
A hand-held electronic apparatus including     a manually manipulatable housing (100), said housing (100) comprising     input means (111;115) for producing image information signals while said housing is manually swept across a material having image information to be copied;memory means (160) for storing the image information signals derived from said input means (111, 114, 115);printing means (121, 122) for printing image information on a printing medium while said housing (100) is manually swept across said printing medium;printer-driving means (164) for driving said printing means (121, 122) in response to the image information signals read out from said memory means (160);position-detecting means (139) for detecting the position of said printing means (121, 122) being swept across said printing medium, thereby to produce a signal every time said printing means (121, 122) is swept over a predetermined distance, said signal representing the position of said printing means (121, 122) with respect to said printing medium;and     control means (151, 152) for controlling said printer-driving means (164) in synchronism with the position signal produced by said position-detecting means (139), so as to cause said printing means (121, 122) to print the image information on said printing medium in the same manner as said image information is formed on said material to be copied.
  2. 18
A hand-held electronic apparatus including     a manually manipulatable housing (210), said housing (210) comprising:printing means (121, 122) for printing image information on a printing medium positioned outside said housing (210) while said housing (210) is manually swept across said printing medium;printer-driving means (164) for driving said printing means (121, 122);position-detecting means (139) for detecting the position of said printing means (121, 122) being manually swept across said printing medium, thereby to produce a position-detecting signal every time said housing (210) is swept over a predetermined distance, said position-detecting signal representing the position of said housing (210) with respect to said printing medium;control means (250) for controlling said printer-driving means (164) in response to the position-detecting signal so as to cause said printing means (121, 122) to print the image information on said printing medium;and,     supporting means (220, 320, 228, 241) for supporting said printing means (121, 122) and said housing (210) in such a manner that a positional relationship between said printing means (121, 122) and housing (210) is varied with relative movement.
  3. 29
A hand-held electronic apparatus including     a manually manipulatable housing (210),     said housing (210) comprising:key input means (210d) capable of inputting data;memory means (251) for storing the data entered by said key input means (210d);display means (210c) for displaying at least one of the data stored in said memory means (251) and the data directly entered by said input means (210d);printing means (121, 122) for printing the data stored in said memory means (251) on printing medium;position-detecting means (139) for detecting the position of said housing (210) being swept across said printing medium, thereby to produce a position-detecting signal every time said housing (210) is swept over a predetermined distance;and,     control means (250) for controlling said printing means (121, 122) in response to the position-detecting signal derived from said position-detecting means (139), so as to cause said printing means (121, 122) to print the data on said printing medium.
