Microcrystalline abrasive agent and process for its preparation
Abstract
Sintered microcrystalline abrasive, which consists of at least 98.5% α-Al₂O₃ having a density of at least 95% of the theoretical density, wherein the size of the crystallites of the α-Al₂-O₃ less than 4 μ is preferably less than 3 μ. This abrasive material is characterized by high hardness and toughness and is ideal for high-pressure grinding.
