Aqueous siloxane emulsions and their use

Aqueous emulsions of (A) organopolysiloxane having oxygen-bonded to silicon aliphatic radicals having a molecular weight of at least 620 g / mol, containing as emulsifier (B) salt of water-soluble organic or inorganic acid and polysiloxane containing such siloxane units in addition to other siloxane units, which contain monovalent, SiC-bonded radicals with basic nitrogen in amounts of at least 0.5 percent by weight basic nitrogen, based on the weight of this polysiloxane, and are free of water-soluble solvent or octanols or such solvent or octanols in amounts of at most 5 percent by weight , based on the weight of the emulsifying agent (B) defined above. Such emulsions are excellently suitable, for example, for hydrophobicizing mineral substances by application to these materials after shaping and optionally further treatment, as hydrophobizing additives for inorganic binders, as binders for inorganic fibrous substances and as binders in aqueous paints.
