Hair cosmetic composition

A novel hair cosmetic composition comprises the following two ingredients (A) and (B): (A) 0.01 to 20 wt% of one or more branched quaternary ammonium salts, and(B) an oily compound of 0.1 to 5 wt% of a long-chain acyl compound or 0.1 to 30 wt% of a-mono-(methyl branched alkyl) glyceryl ether. The composition shows high emulsion and dispersion stabilities after a long period of storage under a low temperature. Further, the composition rarely imposes oily feel to the hair, ensures good smoothness, flexibility and antistaticity, and shows a high set retentivity even under humid conditions.
