Catheter for repair of blood vessel.

Abstract

A catheter (1) for the repair of an injured blood vessel, characterized by comprising a multiple-lumen type catheter tube having at least two tubular cavities (3a, 3b), at least one dilating member (6) disposed in the distal portion of said catheter tube (4) and adapted to communicate with one of said tubular cavities (3a, 3b), a lateral hole (9) for the injection of a blood coagulation accelerent disposed on said catheter tube (4) at the proximal side than said dilating member (6) side and adapted to communicate with the other tubular cavity, and a hub (14) having a plurality of flow conduit communicating (13a, 13b) severally with said tubualr cavities (3a, 3b) of said catheter tube (4) and adapted to communicate with the proximal portion of said catheter tube (4).

13 claims: 4 independent, 9 dependent

  1. 1
A catheter for the repair of an injured blood vessel, characterized by comprising a multiple-lumen type catheter tube having at least two tubular cavities, at least one dilating member disposed near the extremity of said catheter tube and adapted to communicate with one of said tubular cavities, a lateral hole for the injection of a blood coagulation accelerent disposed on said catheter tube at the proximal side than said dilating member and adapted to communicate with the other tubular cavity, and a hub having a plurality of flow conduits communicating severally with said tubular cavities of said catheter tube and adapted to communicate with the proximal portion of said catheter tube.
  2. 2
A catheter according to Claim 1 wherein a first dilating member is used solely.
  3. 3
A catheter according to Claim 1, wherein a first dilating member and a second dilating member are disposed each sides of said lateral hole for the injection of a blood coagulation accelerent.
  4. 4
A catheter according to Claim 3, wherein said first and second dilating members both communicate with one and the same tubualr cavity.
  5. 5
A catheter according to Claim 3, wherein said first and second expanding members communicate respectively with two different tubular cavities.
  6. 6
A catheter according to Claim 3, wherein a third dilating member adapted to communicate with yet another tubular cavity which communicates with yet another flow conduit of said hub is disposed between a first dilating member and a second dilating member adjacently to said lateral hole.
  7. 7
A catheter according to Claim 3 or Claim 4, wherein two tubular cavities are incorporated.
  8. 8
A catheter according to Claim 5, wherein three tubular cavities are incorporated.
  9. 9
A catheter according to Claim 6, wherein four tubular cavities are incorporated.
  10. 10
A catheter according to any of Claims 1 through 9, wherein said plurality of tubualr cavities are formed by dividing one tubular cavity in the axial direction with at least one partition wall.
  11. 11
A catheter according to Claim 6, wherein said first and third dilating members are disposed on the distal portion from said lateral hole.
  12. 12
A catheter according to any of Claims 1 through 9, wherein one of said tubular cavities has opening at the extremity.
  13. 13
A catheter according to any of Claims 1 through 9, and Claims 11 and 12, wherein plural lumens are formed on said partition wall of a double tube formed coaxially.
