In situ method for making impervious or sealing or decontaminating old disposals, i.e. consolidated waste disposals, so-called old deposits, and contaminated sites.
Abstract

p0001The invention relates to a process for the subsequent in-situ sealing or paraphrase or rehabilitation of existing landfills, the so-called. Contaminated soil, and contaminated sites.
p0002Object of the invention is the subsequent sealing and restoration of such ancient garbage, etc.. Landfills, in particular the escape of leachates, etc. Sickergasen. from such contaminated sites and contaminated sites to minimize completely prevented and thus risks of ground water, surface water adjacent properties are to be prevented.
p0003This is achieved according to the method initially described in detail achieved by their first means of known methods, preferably geoelectric measurement methods, the shape, ie the shape and depth, the dump bed and embankment areas is found that then pipes with openings near or at lower end or perforated at the bottom of pipes on the landfill area is divided up to this dump bed and this slope areas are introduced, and that finally sealants to form a dense sink in the Sohlenund slope areas of the landfill are introduced through these tubes.
p0004Preference is given here is the introduction of the sealing compound by pressing at relatively low pressure, preferably a maximum of 10 bar, made. This gives the advantage of a relatively low equipment outlay.
p0005When sealant is preferably a bentonite / water suspension with preferably 20 up to 60 kg per cubic meter of water, bentonite, and optionally used with the addition of cement, grinding Onen, or the like., Chalk, water glass, or the like. but it may also be a resin, especially in form of a gel, are used as sealing compound. When sealant is thus suitable in particular a material which can propagate in the bottom area, which has a sealing effect, is chemically resistent and durable and that also has a certain permanent elasticity. As sealing resins, various organic polymers are suitable, inter alia; in particular acrylic acid derivatives, such as polyacrylamides, which are also processed together with inert fillers, and can also form resilient, well-swellable gels.
p0006Another good uncollectable sealant is bitumen, in particular in the form of easily or less easily breakable aqueous emulsions, such as those used in road construction, as these are cold introduced and contain no organic solvents. The bitumen emulsions can in combination with Dichtgelen, and also sealing resins, preferably in mixture therewith, are used and also contain fillers such as bentonite. For example, can be used a bitumen emulsion are dispersed in the plastic.
p0007It is preferred that the introduction of the sealing compound is preferably carried out under the deadweight pressure of this mass, to increase the specific gravity of the sealant of this, is added to an addition with a higher specific gravity, such as barite. Thereby, the sealing material is spreading as a result of the static pressure in the sole and embankment section itself and comes with balance weight of the sealant and specific flow resistance by itself to rest. One thus uses more of charged sealing material which has been fattened in terms of specific gravity.
p0008According to another embodiment of the inventive method can be applied to the landfill to minimize leachate a waterproof layer or a plant cover, the plant cover collects rainwater and uses.
p0009The inventive method will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing; This is a schematic cross section through a landfill.
p0010With 1 the ground or the bottom of the landfill is designated by 1a whose slope areas. In the pit thus formed, the disposal site and the waste 2 is contained and covered by a cover layer. 5 By means of the injection or probe tubes 3, which are perforated in its lower region, the sealant 4 is applied to the sole 1 and the bank portions 1a and thus subsequently the landfill material 2 is surrounded by a dense sink.
p0011The inventive method thus comprises two, possibly even three major steps: It is important to appropriately capture - see Section 1 - the situation by pressing (inserting, injecting) suitable sealants in the sohlnahen area (layers) of poured landfill and leaking endangered slopes a dense establish pan (section 2).
p0012Here may aufstauende seepage or Sickergase are (Section 3) to remove, shape them but to minimize, through preventive action.
p0013Of all been involved as operators, stakeholders, neighbors, authorities, environmental protection institutions, etc.. are all available information and documentation concerning Location, extent, depth of the area Amount, type and location of the deposited material Groundwater and soil conditions as well as all environmental information catch.
p0014This information shall be supplemented by geophysical -Replace measures how geoelectric soundings surface mapping tomograms geomagnetic recordings radar soundings electromagnetic induction sounding like. further exploratory drilling Ramm-CPTs Other outcrops and sampling.
p0015The evaluation and interpretation of this backing material allows Enscheidung how the methodology described in section 2 is applicable to optimize or; these can then be performed using other methods such as (partial) rearrangement, hydrological measures Umspundung, will include combined or performed until complete filling.
p0016Here are intended to provide rapid disintegration preferably geoelectric and micromagnetic structure investigations and their interpretation.
Section 2:
p0017The targeted paraphrase of a contaminated site is accomplished by creating a dense pan after injecting sealants in their sole and embankment areas in the way that -, Injection or probe tubes introduced at intervals, which are caused by nature or sealing bearing of the landfill material to toe, that is beaten, rammed, pressed, drilled,. The perforation of these probes in the lowest part, that is to about 1.5 m over the top, allowing the exit of the infiltrate only in the sole area. - The injected masses meet the existing pore spaces of the landfill material in the sole area; to be predominantly bentonite / water suspensions of 20 up to 60 kg bentonite per cubic meter of water, provided occasionally with additions of cement or the like to increase the density of water glass or the like to increase the chemical resistance, and if necessary with other additives, with lower Press (up to 10 bar, only in necessary cases higher) pressed, and other Dichtgele resins are applicable. - Their impermeability all pathways for seepage prevents; the permeability is kf ≦ 1.10⁻⁸ m / s prove. - (Sealing slab) is achieved by appropriate Sondenausteilung, mostly in Sechseckverband, a seamless merger of pressed sealants to achieve a closed sealing layer over the entire Schlfläche the landfill, namely, to sealing material overlaps the area covered by the neighboring tube section. Similarly, the slopes (walls) are applied at intervals; also formed by low penetration of the sealant into the existing soil, sufficient "filter cake". There is a "basin" prepared. - The sealants used are resistant due to their composition against possible chemical attack by the nature of leachates and by their physical properties after changes in the landfill material (rotting, ..) able to fill newly created cavities immediately. - The sealing layer by its duration plasticity possibly occurring changes of the subsurface (subsidence, other cracks), participates, that is self-sealing. - Much sealing material is introduced that has a thickness (height) a closed wetting is achieved in the sole area of the sealing layer of an average of at least 0.5 m, the slope area.
p0018The obtained spread and thickness of the applied sealant is finally documented by the each of the conditions to be agreed geoelectric surface mapping.
Section 3:
p0019After sealing the water balance of the landfill will be increasingly important. If required, rainwater. - Keep by designing the ground level (slope, discharge); - To prevent the infiltration by dense covering, any sealing layer, standortgem. greening; - And pumping out leachate from the landfill, this may remain injection wells or other withdrawal possibilities are created.
p0020The affected area can be observed through a long time and to test for the occurrence of leachate and gases. In special cases occurring landfill gases can detected, flared or use are supplied.
p0021The proof of success as well as the essential ongoing monitoring carried out in connection with the presently described overall method by geoelectric soundings. However, all other known possibilities especially of groundwater monitoring are used.
p0022For the final restoration - if it is not already conveniently available - here is a landscape oriented permanent green, preferred as an ecological protection zone to any agricultural use.
