Optical disc record reproducing apparatus

An optical disc apparatus provided with a record correcting system for controlling the variation in the record bit length. The record correcting system may be controlled not only while the power supply is put to work, but also during the unoccupied time when the recording, reproducing, easing operations to the information record region are not required from the upper apparatus. Also, the controlling operation may be performed so that the value of the record correction may be renewed at each of the proper time intervals. The repetition of the trial at the proper interval allows the time lapse after the apparatus power-supply is put to work and the characteristic variation between the respective discs during the disc exchange to be coped with.
