Television sychronizing apparatus.

Abstract

In a synchronized digital horizontal deflection system operating at 2xfH, a first word (HDPW) is produced that is indicative of the length of one-half the period H between fH rate horizontal sync pulses (Hs). A first fH rate signal (CMa) that is synchronized to the horizontal sync pulses (Hs) is generated. The first fH rate signal (CMa) is time shifted by one-half of the period H, in accordance with the first word (HDPW) to produce a second fH rate signal (CMb). The first (CMa) and second (CMb) signals are multiplexed (in 40) for generating a horizontal deflection control signal (CMa, CMb) at 2xfH rate that controls the retrace interval timing in a deflection circuit output stage (41).

  1. 1
A television apparatus for generating from a periodic line frequency synchronizing input signal, first and second components of an output signal that is periodic at a frequency greater than said line frequency, comprising:a source (60) of said line frequency synchronizing input signal (Hs);characterized by means (46) responsive to said input signal for developing a part line length signal (HDPW) that is indicative of the length of a part period of said line frequency synchronizing input signal;means (21) responsive to said line frequency synchronizing input signal for generating a first periodic signal (CT);means (203) responsive to said part line length signal (HDPW) for time shifting said first periodic signal (CT) by an amount that is determined in accordance with said length to generate said first component (CMb) of said output signal;and means (201,42) responsive to said line frequency synchronizing input signal for generating said second component (CMa) of said output signal.
  2. 12
An apparatus for generating from a periodic synchronizing input signal (Hs), a time shifted first periodic output signal (CMb), characterized by:a source of a clock signal (CK);sequential means (21) responsive to said clock signal (CK) for producing recurring sequences, each of which is associated with a corresponding cycle of said synchronizing input signal ( H s) and each of which includes a plurality of sequential states that change from one state to the next at a time that is determined in accordance with said clock signal (CK), said sequential means producing a first periodic signal (CT) that contains the current state in a given sequence;means (33,46) responsive to said periodic synchronizing input signal (Hs) for generating a time shifting signal (HDPW) that contains a value representative of the expected length of the period of said input signal;and means (203) responsive to said time shifting signal (HDPW) for time shifting said first periodic signal (CT) to produce said first periodic output signal (CMb) that is time shifted relative thereto.
  3. 19
An apparatus as recited in any one of Claims 16 to 18 characterized in that said combining means
  4. 20
    (40) forms integer (CMI) and fraction (CMB) part signals of said third periodic output signal (CMI,CMP) that contain the timing information thereof, wherein said integer part signal is indicative of a corresponding cycle of said clock signal (CK) and wherein said fraction part signal is indicative of a corresponding fraction of a cycle of said clock signal.
