Coupling device

Abstract

coupling apparatus is provided for quick coupling of, for example, a plug container to a casing collar or other cylindrical member, in the oil well art. The coupling comprises a body (30), a seal (42) to seal between the body and the cylindrical member (36,38), an adjuster (46) for increasing pressure on the seal, and a locking collar (54), the collar including two arcuate pivoted portions (56,58) which in an open configuration allows an enlarged diameter portion (38) of a cylindrical member to pass therethrough, but in a closed configuration do not.
