Method for preparing a composition

The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of compositions, preferably pharmaceutical compositions, in the form of expanded structures, mechanically stable, laminar, porous, spongiform or in the form of foam, from solutions and dispersions. This method comprises the steps of a) preparing a homogeneous solution or dispersion of a liquid or a compound selected from the group consisting of one or more pharmaceutically active compounds, one or more pharmaceutically suitable excipients, and mixtures thereof, followed by b ) expansion of the homogeneous solution or dispersion without boiling. The invention also relates to the compositions, their subsequent processing and any corresponding dosage form obtainable by the method above.
