The invention relates to a device for ventilating protective clothing against chemical warfare agents by means of a fresh air respirator. In a known device of this type, two Luftzuführun.gsschläuclie are arranged, one of which serves for supplying the breathing air in the head of the wearer enclosing hood and the other for the introduction of air into the suit. In this known device is between the interior of the hood and the interior of the suit no connection.
In another hekannten device of the type mentioned, in which also separate Luftzuführungsschläuclie for the breathing air and the air for ventilation of the arrival, zages .vorluznden, the interior of the hood with the interior of the suit in open connection. However, this known device has the disadvantage that the harmful breathing space is relatively large. The same disadvantage is also possessed by a device for cooling a protective suit, in which the air is introduced at the back of the suit and removed again through openings in the headgear in front of the wearer's eyes.
In contrast, the invention aims to provide a device for ventilation of protective suits against chemical warfare agents, in which only one air supply hose is required and in which also the harmful breathing space is as small as possible.
The invention consists in that the air supply hose is connected to the protective clothing belonging to the protective gas mask and that the gas mask is provided with a valve flap in the manner known elastic sealing edge and is connected to the protective suit, the part of the air flowing into the gas mask, which is not necessary for breathing, flows under the veiling flap of the mask into the protective suit provided with vent valves.
Such a device has the advantage over the known devices that it is much simpler and therefore cheaper to manufacture. The fresh air is only introduced into the mask from which it passes under the valve flap-like acting sealing edge into the interior of the suit, they ventilated and from which it escapes through the check valves again. Due to the arrangement of the valve flap-like acting sealing edge of the harmful space under the mask is very small.
In the drawing, two embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
Fig. R shows the ventilation device in conjunction with a fixed and Fig.2 the device in conjunction with a freely portable fresh air respirator. The mask a provided with the valve flap-like elastic sealing edge b is supplied with the air serving for breathing and aerating by the hose e. The excess air escapes under the valve flap-like acting sealing edge b through in the protective suit c, they leave through the vent valves d again. The exhaled air can also escape under the sealing edge b in the protective suit. But it can also be a special, provided with a relatively strong spring exhalation valve f arranged, which dissipates only a small part of the supplied and the exhaled air and at the same time serves as a safety and purge valve.
