Technical field
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a coin slot machine with a plurality of slot slots arranged in a panel into which a player fires a coin or a slot to hit one of the slot slots, releasing the blocking mechanism for a certain number of coins. or stamps stored in the payout machine, while missing slots means taking the coin or stamp to the cash register, where the stamps or coins are collected or for internal and external circulation for further use.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Heretofore, slot machines are known which are equipped with mechanical win-check devices. Some of these devices are adapted to a fixed payout for each pay slot, for example, ten coins by hitting the central pay slot, with the payout gradually decreasing, for example, up to three coins for the outermost slot. Here, it is very difficult to achieve any variation of prizes and the adjustment of the long-time throw-in / pay-out ratio can only be done by manually adjusting the slot apertures that change the statistical probability of hitting the slot and hence the ratio. As a rule, the aim is to have a long-term profit of an average of 20% of the coins wagered, ie 80% of the coins wagered should be returned as winnings on a larger number of games. The inlet portion of the slots must therefore be adjusted (experimentally) to achieve the correct percentage ratio. However, this is timeζ·:> ?'> .ι· · 7: · Ί; /> 2 · χ ·> Λλ. · ^. <! ·. /. • '..':.; Y- ';'}' · '-?': <·. ·, Ε ·?. * ' 1 b-Xb-b;,<X:and<2> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b> <b>.,,?? x <HR-3? šr.- ,;Jb, ···; '. ·. . demanding process.
The Norwegian patent 139758 (Lars Berg A / S) discloses a device used in a gaming machine comprising a payout mechanism which is programmed to continuously or periodically change winnings. Smooth or periodic variations of the prizes according to Norwegian Patent 139758 are made by leaving the values of the individual displays arranged above each prize slot at certain time intervals, for the same time as the payout mechanism is set to the value that is displayed at any time above the slots.
In this case, the player must not only estimate the impact force the coin is thrown or fired, but the coin must also hit the selected slot at an instant to ensure optimal winnings. According to the Norwegian patent, it is proposed to change the winnings every second, so that the player must fire the coin correctly when the maximum value is currently displayed in order to win.
GB 1 454 046 (Gatley) discloses a gaming machine in which the aim is to control short-term small proportional profits by designing means for checking the total value of the coins deposited, means for checking the total value of winnings paid and means susceptible to deviation of the ratio from a predetermined ratio causing a change in either the chances or the value of the winnings in subsequent games in that direction, which will have the effect of correcting the ratio of these total values to the correct value.
GB 1 202 691 (Lehnard) discloses a gaming machine comprising a payout device at the end of each winning game where a bonus can be obtained after a predetermined number of winning games. In addition, there is proposed a premium paying facility whose activity is controlled directly or indirectly
<img file="CS9100305A3_D0002.tif" />
by a counting means, wherein the premium paying device is not started until a predetermined number of winnings has been reached. This predetermined premium payment device is provided as part of another gaming machine that differs from the first gaming machine, the two machines operating in cooperation with each other, controlled by said counting means.
GB 2,188,182 (Parker) discloses an amusement coin machine where a player hits one or more fixed targets means a win, the amount of winnings is calculated based on the number of targets hit and the number of coins deposited at the cash register of the machine. in relation to the amount of coins that were thrown into the slot machine and which were paid out in the previous game.
GB 2 131 587 (Eagivara) relates to an entertainment device in which a lot of programs that control lira are stored in computer memory. The actual device win is derived from random variations in a predetermined program. Known amusement devices related to the same issue are described in the preamble of this patent and may be amusement devices where other objects run over the horse's path during the game.
Such an entertainment device includes, for example, U.S. Patent 4,373,732 (Brovn et al.) And the disadvantage of such devices is the possibility of large prizes soon after installation of the device, although long-term wins have been set according to a predetermined payout ratio. Although this disadvantage has been reduced, it is proposed, according to the aforementioned patent GB 2 131 587, to automatically select a payout program which is less advantageous for the player when the respective winnings exceed a predetermined limit. Therefore, the patent GB 2,131,587 proposes more payout programs, for example four, and when a player exceeds a predetermined limit, the disposition circuit automatically selects another

- 4 program to change the actual payout.
However, although GB 2 131 587 proposes multiple payout programs or tables that can provide long and short term winnings of various sizes, it does not contain any proposal to accumulate a bonus that is granted after a longer period of time and which is paid as a result of coin slot machine turnover. or signs.
Further, U.S. Pat. No. 4,624,459 (Kaufman) discloses a multiple random win gaming apparatus comprising a random number generator that outputs a plurality of random numbers to pay out multiple random winnings. However, this known gaming machine does not provide instructions for collecting winnings that are preferably not fixed, but which depend on the number of coins to be inserted into the slot machine and consequently on their value, nor the instructions for later determining the payment of the bonus after the deposited coins have been evaluated by computer.
Also, U.S. Pat. No. 4,448,419 (Telnaes) discloses a gaming machine of the type utilizing rotary winding drums carrying a plurality of marks or symbols on the periphery, but there is no instruction for issuing coins by a gaming machine, or of the total amount of coins thrown into the slot machine, which is a percentage less than the balance between the long-term percentage profit and the total number of coins in the slot machine, and also a means for setting a special win based on the accumulation of differences between said balance and said smaller prize which eventually yields an accumulated difference after a certain number of successful games; players paid as the main prize.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a coin-operated or coin-operated gaming machine of the type initially described as a further improvement of the gaming device described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,624,459. known slot machines.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a gaming machine in which short-term winnings and long-term gains can be completely controlled and controlled and appropriately adjusted.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a gaming machine which will have even more possibilities of variation in payouts, especially pot-type winnings - and main prizes - and especially for setting many different types of winnings.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a gaming machine in which not only the number of games can be alternated from one main prize to another, but also the number of games and the time between these special prizes. affiliate with the value of several major wins.

Overview of the drawings
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1a shows a schematic front view of a combined coin panel of a gaming machine and a block diagram relating to its first embodiment; Fig. 2a shows graphically an example of changes or variations of short-term payouts and a number of major winnings related to a large number of games, and Figs. 2b shows graphically another variation of short-term wins and a number of special major wins related to a large number of games.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In Fig. 1a, which schematically depicts the physical components of a coin slot machine and their respective connections to various control and monitoring means in a simplified diagram, the general construction of the slot machine is known per se. The slot machine 1 and the coin or stamp shown in FIG. 1a, comprises a coin panel 1b, which in turn is provided with a plurality, for example, five slot slots 7, which form targets for coins introduced into the slot machine, and which the player fires into the panel 1b using a manually operated firing mechanism. Above each target or winning slot 6 is a display 2, which in variable way shows the amount of the respective prize before each game.
Displays 92, which may generally be of the known LED or LCD type, are controlled by a control unit 3 which in turn responds to information from the computer 4. The computer 4 is adapted to receive information from several sensors 5 located at different locations in the coin panel 1b, which follow the movement of the various coins, i.e. the coin supply section, the coin hitting section into the winning slot 7, a coin which has not hit any winning slot 7, a coin approaching the stock in the cash register 8. or a coin paid out by the cashier 8 of the slot machine.
Thus, the first set of sensors 5 controls the individual guides 5 and from the slots 7, each sensor 5 supplying an electrical signal to the computer 4 to detect that the coin has hit a slot 7 and that the amount is to be set aside from the cash register 8. which is to be paid, ie the winnings shown on the relevant display 2.
After the coin has passed from the slot 8 through the guide track 7, it reaches the cash register 8 where the coins are collected, but before it passes through the sensor 6, which registers all the coins fed to the cash register 8.
If a coin inserted into the machine and fired toward one winning slot 7 misses this slot 7, it will follow one of several inserted lanes 6aa on its way to the cash register 8, whereupon it is also registered by said sensor 6.
The gaming machine may also be designed with a closed or semi-closed circulation for a number of coins or stamps, in which case the coins used by the player may circulate internally or externally for further use.
It should be noted that the dispenser is also provided with an inlet sensor 6a, which is located near the inlet slot 7a from which the coin fed into the machine is fired toward the winning slots 1.
It should further be noted that in the exit path 7aa from the cash register 8 there is provided another sensor 7 which controls the number of coins paid out when the winnings have been reached, the exit path 7aa leading to the slot 7b for paying out the winnings.
In most games played by a slot machine player 1 and a coin that has been inserted into the slot machine 1 and the entrance slot 7a and fired from it by means not shown, it will not hit any slot 7 and then follow one of the inserted lanes 6aa to the cash register 8 so the input sensor 6a and then in front of the cash register With the control sensor 6.
Upon striking the slot, the coin also passes into the cash register 8, so that in this case it is also first registered by the input sensor 6a and then in front of the cash register 8 by the control sensor 6. However, the coin which has hit the slot 8 also passes through one sensor 5. indicating an intervention that sends a signal to the computer 4, which in turn directs the release mechanism 9 to open the locking means 10 in the exit path 7aa from the cash register 8 to allow as many coins or stamps to be paid as corresponding to the win shown on the display 2 associated with the slot 7; into which the coin hit. The control sensor 7 in the output path 7aa from the cash register 8 not only checks the total number of coins paid by the locking means 10, but also ensures that the correct amount is paid by sending the control signal back to the counter 4.
the computer 4 is connected to an adjusting device 11 comprising a display 11a and a keyboard 11b as further illustrated
- JO in the block diagram of FIG. 1b. The keyboard 1b is used to set up the computer 4, and to ensure that only an authorized employee can perform this setting, the keyboard 11b may be provided with a lock key or flap (not shown).
The computer 4 will continuously receive and simultaneously store information about the contents of the cash register 8. The computer 4 is further configured to adjust the value of any payout prize to the cash register 8, as will be explained in more detail below.
It goes without saying that the computer 4 comprises a main program which ensures a suitable ratio between the owner's own profit and the winnings paid by the players. A percentage, here A percent, for example 20%, is kept by the slot machine owner as a profit, while the average balance of total input, this average is designated as B% and can for example be 80% of total input, is to be paid back to slot machines.
However, the computer 4, in combination with the adjusting device 11, makes it possible to change this B / A ratio in a way that makes the game on the slot machine much more attractive to the players. One way to achieve this is described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,844,464 in order to change said ratio to an A / b / c ratio, for example 20/75/5, in which part C or 5% part is deposited at the cash register 8. for a certain period of time to be paid out as the main prize to complement the average total win back to the agreed b '+ C = B% or 80%.
In Fig. 1b, the main program set by the device 11 is indicated by a block 19, hereinafter referred to as a mode of operation.
This operation block 19 controls several different control blocks, such as the first block 20 referred to as tracking the total value of the coins deposited, the second block 21 designated as the owner's long-term percentage gain adjustment, and the third block 22 designated as the short-term winnings
-11a the fourth block 23 designated as main winnings set ///.
Figure 1b also shows a series of sub-blocks 23a,
23b, 23c. . . 23n, which means that according to the invention means are provided for setting other special prizes.
Said sub-blocks 23a ... Thus, the 23n for setting other special wins are the first special prize block 23a appearing in the first most frequently repeated interval with the first average amount, while the second block 23b represents the means for adjusting the second special prize appearing in the second average repeated interval and with the second average amount. , and the third block 23c may, for example, be a means for adjusting a third special win with a third average amount, etc.
For example, when such three blocks are used to set up three special wins, i. blocks 23a, 23b and 23c, block 23a may be adapted to adjust the first average amount of the first special lowest prize, but at the most frequent payout interval, e.g. daily, while block 23b may be adjusted to adjust the second average amount of the second median prize and a moderately repetitive payout interval, for example weekly, and block 23c may be adjusted to adjust the third average amount of the third special prize to the highest value, but with the least frequent payout interval, for example, once a month.
While the use of three blocks 23a, 23b and 23c has been contemplated so far, the a / b '/ C ratio mentioned above will be further subdivided into the A / b' / C1 / C2 / C3 ratio, wherein the aforementioned C or 50 will be divided, for example, into the sections 2.50 - 1.50 "10 regarding the smallest but most frequent winnings, the medium winnings and the highest but least frequent special winnings.
It goes without saying that the use of computer 4 makes it possible to program changes in the number of games not only from the first special prize to the next first special prize, but also between the other special prizes, in order to make it harder or more exciting for players special prizes.
Such a random occurrence of the main prizes may be performed by a so-called random generator 24, which in FIG. 1b is connected to a block 19 of a mode of operation to obtain information therefrom and whose output is connected to a control unit 25 which also receives information from the blocks described above. 2C, 21, 22 and 22 & apos; 23a-23n, as well as from block 26 designated as a sensor receiving unit. Control unit 25. it controls the release mechanism 9, which, as previously described, releases the correct number of coins according to the mode of operation for which the computer 4 has been set up and in accordance with various accumulated short-term prizes and special major prizes.
Figures 2a and 2b show examples of operation of a gaming machine according to the invention.
In Fig. 2a, the first coordinate (x) shows the number of games, while the second coordinate (y) shows the individual winnings given by the setting or mode of operation of the computer 4. For simplicity, only one winning slot 7 is considered in this example. Furthermore, it is assumed that the probability of hit slot 7 is 5%, and that the probability of hit slot 7 will occur by hitting the slot 7 after every twentieth game, which is in fact a very rough simplification. In addition, this estimated probability in this connection is extremely low.
Furthermore, it is assumed that the value of the coin is 5, so that in the game of number 20, which according to said rough assumption causes a so-called reduced or ordinary short-term payout, there is at the cash register 8 of the gaming machine 1 and / in addition to the previous undetermined amount. For example, the first payout that occurs during game number 20 may be programmed to a percentage of B 'of 75, ie, a reduced ordinary short-term win. After a certain amount of these winnings has been paid, the number 160 prize will be the main prize, which in the case of a percentage of C of the total prize of 5% will be 115, adjusted by the previous B'75 percentage and accumulated 8 x 5%. makes a total of 115, causing the average to rise to 80.
However, according to the invention, this prize part C may be further subdivided into sections, for example a first part C1 of 2.5% representing the first special major prize, a second part C2 of 1.5% representing the second special prize, and a third part of C3 representing 1% and representing the third main prize, of which the first part of C1 should have the lowest value but occurring in the most frequent payout interval, while the second part C2 is to be set as the mean value occurring in the medium recurring payout interval, and the third part 03 is to be set to the highest value but the least occurring payout interval. This further distribution of part C is also shown in Fig. 2a, in which other particular major prizes are shown.
Fig. 2a thus also shows, in game number 160, the first special prize, which consists of a normal 75% plus an accumulated value of 8 x 2.5% = 20, totaling 95, ie formed by the accumulated portion C1 / 2, 5%.
For example, in game number 4000, a second special win will also appear, consisting of the accumulated portion of C2 (1.5%), and this accumulation occurred 4000/20 = 200 times, so the resulting accumulated main win is 200 x 1.5 + 75 = 375 ·
- 14 -
HSBB
Further, for example, in game number 10000, a third special main win occurs as a result of the accumulated portion of C3 that has accumulated 10000/20 = 500 times giving 500 xx 1 + 75 = 575 as the value of the third special main win.
It goes without saying that said parts C1, C2 and C3 may vary both in terms of their values and the frequency of their occurrence.
For example, the first special or special prize may occur several times a day, while the second special prize may occur, for example, one or more times per week, and the third special prize may occur once or more per month.
For example, the number of games that must be played before any major win can be determined by the output from the random generator 24 included in the computer 4. For example, when set to make the first special major win appear not necessarily after 8 normal short-term winnings 11 normal long-term winnings, a special prize will accumulate at a C value of 5% to 75 + 12x5 = Γ35.
Alternatively, if the first major win consists of a portion of Cl equal to 2.5%, the value of this main win after 11 normal short-term winnings will be 75 + 12 x 2.5 = 105, which is different from the value of 95 regarding the first special main win occurring after 8 ordinary short-term wins.
Furthermore, it will be appreciated that the second and third special major wins, given by portions C2 and C3, may also be suitably varied, either randomly or by other successive patterns.
As a matter of fact, the payout method will be much more complicated than explained above, given the following reasons:
s' / «Wí
<img file="CS9100305A3_D0003.tif" />
First, the slot machine usually has several pay slots with different payouts. For example, in the case of the five winning slots 7, the win-win ratio may consist of a 3-5-5-5-5-3 arrangement where the middle slot 7 is designed to maximize the prize. However, the computer 4 calculates the probability of winning for each game and then dividing them among the various slots 1 as accurately as possible.
F:
Given the number of win options, the graph in Fig. 2a will then be much more complicated, as the win depends on which slot of the coin hits. The accumulation of the main prize can be much faster when a lower order slot 7 is hit, in which the short-term prizes are relatively lower compared to the middle slot 7. However, this is monitored by a computer 4 which still receives and processes information about the contents of the cash register 8. The computer 4 may also be set to prepare the main prize when a predetermined number of games have been played after the previous main prize, unless the random generator 24 has ordered the main prize earlier.
i *
-and
Secondly, there is a disadvantage of the moment when hitting a slot means that the winnings will be distributed more randomly than shown in Figure 2a. In principle, this will not be a disadvantage, since the computer 4 can also count on these conditions. However, the computer 4 will be able to analyze the statistical distribution of the interventions and, by registering statistically important deviations, create preconditions for an average gain for a large number of games, and will be able to stop the gaming machine as needed to reset the program parameters.
The computer 4 may also be set to other variations in the size and appearance of the prizes. For example, the computer 4 may change according to the preferred setting to which slot 7 will be
- 16 have the highest prize.
In addition, other variations may be set to be shown in Fig. 2a in terms of winnings as shown in Fig. 2b.
Referring to FIG. 2b, a sinusoidal change in conventional short-term wins around a reduced average of 75% is selected, including special major wins, which may occur in a similar manner as discussed in connection with FIG. 2a. It should be noted that Fig. 2b also provides the same simplification as Fig. 2a. In the example shown in Fig. 2b, the amplitude of the sine changes between each main prize is also varied to allow for further variations of the game.
counted by flush, the player can then change the player and tic.
