Vehiculum of medicament and method of its produce

Medicaments in the form of foils are prepd. by incorporating a pharmaceutical agent in a foil-forming material which is soluble in H2O and/or organic solvents. The prods. can be used internally or externally but are esp. useful for oral administration, e.g. of gestagens, oestrogens, tranquillisers, antidiabetics, sulphonamides, antibiotics, antitrichomonals and anti-inflammatories. Foils can be prepd. with uniform thickness and a uniform distribution of active ingredient, and losses of active ingredient during handling are minimised (cf. coated foils). Foils contg. more than one active ingredient (e.g. contraceptive gestogen/oestrogen prepns.) can be prepd. without these ingredients coming into contact with one another.
