Scent dispensation

Abstract

A scent dispenser may comprise a vial retaining mechanism, a heating element, vial sensor, and a controller. The vial retaining mechanism includes a vial coupling that removeably retains a vial containing a scented solution. The includes a wick extending from a cavity of the vial through an opening of a neck of the vial. The heating element is shaped to receive and heat the wick of the vial. The vial sensor includes an array of sensor pads that are arranged in alignment with the vial retained by the vial coupling. The controller is electrically coupled to the heating element and electrically coupled to the array of sensor pads. The controller regulates a temperature level of the heating element, and receives signals from the array of sensor pads and processing the signals to determine a fluid level of the vial.

  1. 1
CLAIMS:1. A method comprising: identifying, by a controller, a solution type of a first solution in a first vial using a vial identifier on the first vial, the vial identifier including a code for identifying the solution type of the first solution;receiving, by the controller, a transmission from a separate device, the transmission including a command to electrically charge a first heating element, the transmission being sent from the separate device based on an event;heating, by the controller, the first heating element to a temperature based on the solution type of the first solution, the first heating element heating an end of a first wick extending through a first side of the first vial, the heating causing the first solution to be dispensed from the first vial using the first wick;wirelessly communicating with a management server, via a wireless interface, to receive control data stored on the management server, the control data including state settings from the management server;responsive to receiving the control data, receiving by the controller, a signal from the management server indicating to switch from dispensing the first solution from the first vial to dispensing a second solution from a second vial;and heating, by the controller, a second heating element in response to receiving the signal, the second heating element heating an end of a second wick extending through a first side of the second vial, the heating causing the second solution to be dispensed from the second vial using the second wick.
  2. 10
A scent dispensing device comprising a processor and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor cause the scent dispensing device to:identify a solution type of a first solution in a first vial using a vial identifier on the first vial, the vial identifier including a code for identifying the solution type of the first solution;Date Reçue/Date Received 2023-05-01 receive a transmission from a separate device, the transmission including a command to electrically charge a first heating element, the transmission being sent from the separate device based on an event;heat the first heating element to a temperature based on the solution type of the first solution, the first heating element heating an end of a first wick extending through a first side of the first vial, the heating causing the first solution to be dispensed from the first vial using the first wick;wirelessly communicate with a management server, via a wireless interface, to receive control data stored on the management server, the control data including state settings from the management server;responsive to receiving the control data, receive a signal from the management server indicating to switch from dispensing the first solution from the first vial to dispensing a second solution from a second vial;and heat a second heating element in response to receiving the signal, the second heating element heating an end of a second wick extending through a first side of the second vial, the heating causing the second solution to be dispensed from the second vial using the second wick.
