Abstract

A video encoding method, wherein encoding of a block to be encoded is executed by calculating a prediction motion vector to be used when encoding a motion vector of the block to be encoded, comprises: a step (S102) for obtaining a fixed number (two or more) of prediction motion vector candidates; a step (S103) for selecting a prediction motion vector to be used for encoding the motion vector of the block to be encoded, from among the fixed number (two or more) of prediction motion vector candidates; and a step (S104) for encoding an index for specifying the selected prediction motion vector, according to the fixed number (two or more). The fixed number (two or more) of prediction motion vector candidates include a candidate having a prescribed second fixed value.

    The embodiments of the present invention for which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:1. A moving picture coding method for calculating a motion vector predictor to be used when coding a motion vector of a current block, and coding the current block using the motion vector which is coded using the motion vector predictor, to generate a bitstream, the method comprising: obtaining a list of a fixed number of motion vector predictor candidates each of which is a candidate for the motion vector predictor, the fixed number being at least two;selecting the motion vector predictor to be used for coding the motion vector of the current block, from among the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates;and coding an index for identifying the selected motion vector predictor according to the fixed number, and adding the coded index to the bitstream, wherein the obtaining of the list of the motion vector predictor candidates includes: performing first derivation processing of deriving one or more first candidates, and adding, if the one or more first candidates are derived, the one or more first candidates to the list;performing second derivation processing of deriving one or more new candidates and adding the one or more new candidates to the list, if a total number of the one or more first candidates is smaller than the fixed number;and adding a plurality of new candidates to the list until a total number of candidates added to the list becomes equal to the fixed number, the new candidates have parameters of same values which include a motion vector of a value 0, and the fixed number is a maximum number of the motion vector predictor candidates.

    The moving picture coding method according to Claim 2, wherein the obtaining of the list of the motion vector predictor candidates includes:setting the plurality of candidates each having a motion vector of value 0 as all the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates, to initialize the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates;performing first derivation processing of deriving the one or more first candidates, and updating the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates if the one or more first candidates are derived, to cause the motion vector predictor candidates to include the derived one or more first candidates;and performing second derivation processing of deriving the one or more new candidates if a total number of the one or more first candidates is smaller than the fixed number, and updating the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates if the one or more new candidates are derived, to cause the motion vector predictor candidates to include the derived one or more new candidates.

    A moving picture decoding method for calculating a motion vector of a current block included in a bitstream using a motion vector predictor to be used when decoding the motion vector, and decoding the current block, the method comprising:obtaining a list of a fixed number of motion vector predictor candidates each of which is a candidate for the motion vector predictor, the fixed number being at least two;decoding, according to the fixed number, an index for identifying the motion vector predictor candidate from among the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates, the index being coded and added to the bitstream;and selecting, based on the decoded index, the motion vector predictor to be used for decoding the current block from among the fixed number of the motion vector predictor candidates, wherein the obtaining of the list of the motion vector predictor candidates includes: performing first derivation processing of deriving one or more first candidates, and adding, if the one or more first candidates are derived, the one or more first candidates to the list;-87CA 2843560 2019-09-10 performing second derivation processing of deriving one or more new candidates and adding the one or more new candidates to the list, if a total number of the one or more first candidates is smaller than the fixed number;and adding a plurality of new candidates to the list until a total number of candidates added to the list becomes equal to the fixed number, the new candidates have parameters of same values which include a motion vector of a value 0, and the fixed number is a maximum number of the motion vector predictor candidates.

    The moving picture decoding method according to Claim 4, wherein the one or more first candidates are candidates each derived based on a motion vector used for decoding an adjacent block spatially or temporally adjacent to the current block.

    A moving picture coding method for coding a current block, the moving picture coding method comprising:-90CA 2843560 2019-09-10 generating a second candidate list that includes a plurality of candidates, the plurality of candidates including a first candidate and a second candidate which are redundant candidates, the first candidate having a first motion vector predictor that is a first zero vector, the second candidate having a second motion vector predictor that is a second zero vector;and coding an index corresponding to a candidate having a motion vector predictor, the candidate being one of the plurality of candidates, wherein a first candidate list includes the first candidate and does not include the second candidate, wherein, when a total number of one or more candidates in the first candidate list is less than a maximum candidate number, the second candidate is added to the first candidate list until the total number of the one or more candidates in the first candidate list reaches the maximum candidate number, to generate the second candidate list, and wherein the motion vector predictor is used to code a motion vector of the current block.

    The moving picture coding method according to Claim 10, wherein the motion vector of the current block is a sum of a motion vector difference of the current block and the motion vector predictor.

    A motion vector predictor derivation method, comprising:generating a second candidate list that includes a plurality of candidates, the plurality of candidates including a first candidate and a second candidate which are redundant candidates, the first candidate having a first motion vector predictor that is a first zero vector, the second candidate having a second motion vector predictor that is a second zero vector;and deriving a candidate having a motion vector predictor, the candidate being one of the plurality of candidates, wherein a first candidate list includes the first candidate and does not include the second candidate, wherein, when a total number of one or more candidates in the first candidate list is less than a maximum candidate number, the second candidate is added to the first candidate list until the total number of the one or more candidates in the first candidate list reaches the maximum candidate number, to generate the second candidate list, and wherein the motion vector predictor is used to decode a motion vector of a current block.
