Abstract

A system for communication between at least one central station (10) and at least one remote mobile or stationary object (20, 24, 25) by means of transmitting and receiving means is disclosed which is characterized in that said at least one object comprises a cellular phone module (202) which provides a private subscription for private usage by a driver or operator of the object (20, 24, 25), and a selectable service subscription for transmitting and managing of at least one service like remote status information, malfunction, diagnostics and maintenance as well as technical and emergency assistance by means of the at least one central station (10).

A method for communication between at least one central station and at least one mobile or stationary remote station by means of transmitting and receiving means wherein said at least one remote station comprises a cellular phone module, said method comprising: providing each remote station with a sleep mode (S) which when implemented has a minimal power consumption, a standby mode (W) in which the remote station is powered up and waits for an incoming message from said at least one central station via either a cellular or a satellite communication, and providing a service identifier in said incoming message, and a first service execution mode (Tl) for activating the identified service, wherein a conflict concerning simultaneous execution of several services during said selectable service subscription is handled automatically by assigning and affecting a priority to each service and deactivating any services with a minor priority than the service with a first priority;providing a private subscription of each cellular phone module for private usage by the driver or operator of the remote station;and providing a selectable service subscription of each cellular phone module for transmitting and managing of at least one service selected from the following group of services: remote status information, malfunction diagnostics, maintenance and technical and emergency assistance, by means of the at least one central station.     A mobile or stationary remote station adapted for implementing communication between the mobile or stationary remote station and at least one central station, said mobile or stationary remote station comprising a cellular phone module for providing a private subscription for private usage by a driver or operator of the remote station and a selectable service subscription for transmitting and managing of at least one service selected from the following group of services:remote status information, malfunction diagnostics, maintenance and technical and emergency assistance, wherein the remote station includes a sleep mode (S) in which the power consumption is minimal, a standby mode (W) in which the remote station is powered up and waits for an incoming message comprising a service identifier from at least one central station via either a cellular or a satellite communication, and a first service execution mode (Tl) for activating the identified service, wherein a conflict concerning simultaneous execution of several services during said selectable service subscription is handled automatically by assigning and affecting a priority to each service and deactivating any services with a minor priority than the service with a first priority.

    A system comprising at least one central station, a plurality of mobile or stationary remote stations and a means for transmitting and receiving data via either a cellular or a satellite communication between said at least one central station and said plurality of mobile or stationary remote stations, wherein at least one mobile or stationary remote station comprises a cellular phone module that provides a private subscription for private usage by an operator of the remote station and a selectable service subscription for transmitting and managing of at least one service selected from the following group of services:remote status information, malfunction diagnostics, maintenance and technical and emergency assistance, by means of the at least one central station;and wherein said at least one mobile or stationary remote station includes a sleep mode (S) in which minimal power is consumed, a standby mode (W) in which the remote station is powered up and waits for an incoming message including a CA 02391485 2011-05-03 service identifier from the at least one central station, and a first service execution mode (TI) that activates the identified service, wherein a conflict concerning simultaneous execution of several services during said selectable service subscription is handled automatically by assigning and affecting a priority to each service and deactivating any services with a minor priority than the service with a first priority.
