  1. 1
CA 02307175 2007-01-17 What is claimed is:1. A protein C or activated protein C polypeptide comprising a modified gammacarboxyglutamic acid (GLA) domain, said modified GLA domain comprising at least one amino acid substitution at residue 10,11, 28, or 33, wherein the unmodified amino acid sequence of the GLA domain of said protein C or activated protein C polypeptide is set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1.
  2. 13
A protein C or activated protein C polypeptide comprising a modified gammacarboxyglutamic acid (GLA) domain, said modified GLA domain comprising three amino acid substitutions at positions selected from the group consisting of residues 10, 11,28, 32, and 33, wherein the unmodified amino acid sequence of the GLA domain of said protein C or activated protein C polypeptide is set forth in SEQ ID NO:1.
  3. 19
An isolated nucleic acid encoding the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 through 18.
  4. 22
A pharmaceutical composition comprising the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 to 18 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
  5. 23
A pharmaceutical composition comprising the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 to 18 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for use as a medicament.
  6. 27
A method of producing the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 through 18 in a mammalian host cell, said method comprising purifying the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide from a mammalian host cell comprising a nucleic acid encoding said protein C or activated protein C polypeptide.
  7. 29
A use of the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 to 18 for preparation of a medicament for decreasing clot formation in a mammal.
  8. 30
A use of the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 to 18 for decreasing clot formation in a mammal.
  9. 31
A use of the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 to 18 for preparation of a medicament for treating thrombosis in a mammal.
  10. 32
A use of the protein C or activated protein C polypeptide of any one of claims 1 to 18 for treating thrombosis in a mammal.
