Absorbent article with structural elastic-like film web waist belt

Abstract

Absorbent articles such as disposable dia-pers, incontinent briefs, diaper holders, trainingpants, feminine hygiene garments and the like, that have a unique waist feature that improves thedynamic fit as well as the containment charac-teristics of the absorbent article. Such absorbentarticles comprise a chassis assembly preferablycomprising a liquid pervious topsheet a liquidimpervious backsheet and an absorbent core po-sitioned between the topsheet and the backsheet;an extensible waist belt and a closure system formaintaining the absorbent article on the wearer. The extensible wrist belt provides an extensi-ble feature that provides a more comfortable andcontouring fit by initially conformably fitting thediaper to the wearer and by sustaining this fit. While each extensible waist belt may be con-structed from a number of extensible materialsthe extensible waist belt preferably comprises astructured elastic-like film web. The structuralelastic like film (SELF) web exhibits an elastic-like behavior in the direction of elongation with-out the use of added elastic materials.
