Tooth brushes

Abstract

ABSTRACT. A process for producing a tooth brush (10') with at least three head portions (13, 14, 15), which are mutually separated from each other in pairs by means of an inter- mediate cavity (11, 12). The head portions (13-15) are angled relative to each other about an axis (14a, 15a) parallel to an associated cavity (11, 12) after associated bristle groups (19) are fixed in place and after a local heating of the tooth brush head is effected. The tooth brush head (lOa) is subjected to a local heating at the bottom (11a,12a) of each of the cavities (11,12), in that a heat conducting means (21) is introduced into each cavity (11, 12) for heating the cavity at the bottom of same. The angling is effected about a respective of said axes (14a, (15a) which are arranged on the bristle-carrying side of the tooth brush head, that is to say just at the bottom (lla, 12a) of the associated cavity (11, 12) A blank for carrying out the process has the cavities (11, 12) arranged on the back side of the tooth brush head, that is to say on the side opposite the bristle-carrying side of the tooth brush head. The longi- tudinal axes (14a, 15a) for angling the head portions (13, 14, 15) relative to each other are arranged on or at the bristle-carrying side of the head portion directly oppo- site the associated cavity (11, 12). 31 A tooth brush has the cavities (11, 12) arranged on the back side of the tooth brush head. The bristle groups in the middle head portion are terminated in alignment with the bristle groups in the innermost rows of bristle groups of the two outer head portions. The bristle groups of the two outer head portions extend obliquely towards each other in alignment with the bristle groups of the middle head portion.

  1. 1
CLAIMS:1. Process for producing a tooth brush which comprises a tooth brush head with at least three head portions separated in pairs from each other by means of an intermediate cavity or attenuation groove and angled relative to each other about an axis parallel to the associated cavity or attenuation groove after associated bristle groups are fastened in place and after a local heating of the head of the tooth brush is effected, said process comprising designing the cavities or attenuation grooves on the side of the brush head opposite the bristle-supporting side, subjecting said brush head to a local heating at the bottom of each of the cavities or attenuation grooves by introducing therein a heat conducting means and thereafter effecting angling about a respective one of said axes arranged on the bristle-carrying side of said brush head just by the bottom of said associated cavity or attenuation groove.
  2. 8
A tooth brush which comprises a tooth brush head with at least three head portions which are separated from each other in pairs by means of an intermediate cavity or attenuation groove and are angled relative to each other about an axis parallel to an associated cavity or attenuation groove, and rows of bristle groups fixed to respective head portions with the bristle groups in the one outer head portion disposed obliquely towards the bristle groups in the other head portion with the bristle groups having increasing bristle lengths reckoned laterally from the middle portion of the tooth brush head outwardly towards opposite longitudinal side edges of the tooth brush head and certain bristle groups having bristles of greater bristle diameter than the bristles of the remaining bristle groups, the davities or attenuation grooves being arranged on the back side of the tooth brush head opposite the bristle-carrying side thereof and the bristle groups in the middle head portion being terminated approximately at the level of the bristle groups in the innermost rows of bristle groups of the two outer head portions.
