    THE CLAIMS DEFINING THE INVENTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:1. An extrudanle vinylidene chloride polymeric composition comprising: (a) 1% to 4% by weight of plasticizer;(b) 1% to 4% by weight of acrylate/styrene polymer ;and (c) the balance comprising at least one vinylidene chloride copolymer. 2. The composition of claim 1 including 1% to 4% of a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of epoxidized linseed oil, epoxidized soybean oil, epoxidized alpha olefin, epoxidized ester, tetraethylene glycol di (2-ethylhexoate), and other epoxidized plasticizers. 3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the acrylate/styrene polymer is a butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate/styrene polymer. 4. The composition of claim 1 comprising by weight: about 2% epoxidized soybean oil? about 2% acrylate/styrene polymer;and about 96% vinylidene chloride copolymer. 5* A multi-layer polymeric film comprising: (a) a first and second surface layers;and (b) a vinylidene chloride polymeric layer disposed between said surface layers comprising: (1) 1% to 4% plasticizer;

    (2) 1% to 4% acrylate/styrene polymer; and (3) the balance comprising at least one vinylidene chloride polymer 4 6. The film of claim 5 wherein said surface layers comprise polyolefin materials. 3/920803.2/TXTJLS 7. The film of claim 5 in which the vinylidene chloride polymeric layer includes 1% to 4% of a plasticiser selected from the group consisting of epoxidized linseed oil, epoxidized soybean oil, epoxidized alpha olefin, epoxidized ester, tetraethylene glycol di(2-ethylhexoate), and other epoxidized plasticizers. 8. The film of claim 5 wherein the acrylate/'styrene polymer is a butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate/styrene polymer. 9. The filti of claim 6 wherein said polyolefin materials are selected from the group consisting of:ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, branched low density polyethylene, linear low density polyethylene, and very low density polyethylene and blends thereof, 10. The film of claim 5 wherein at least one layer of the multi-layer film is biaxially oriented, 11. The film of claim 5 wherein the multi-layer film has been cross-linked to a dosage less than 4.0 MR. 12. A method of making a film comprising: (a) preparing a mixture comprising a vinylidene chloride copolymer and a plasticizer;ib) adding acrylate/styrene polymer to said mixture to comprise 1% to 4¾ thereof;(c) blending said mixture;and (d) extruding the blended resin to form a film» 13. The method of claim 12 wherein the extrusion step is performed by extrusion coating the blended mixture onto a polymeric substrate film. 14. The method of claim 12 wherein the extrusion step is performed by coextruding the layer of blended mixture between two other polymeric layers. 3/920803.2/TXTJLS r~ Λ 15. The method of claim 12 including the step of irradiating the multi-layer film to a dosage level less than 4.0 MR. 16. The method of claim 12 wherein said vinylidene chloride copolymer mixture comprises more than one vinylidene chloride copolymer. 17. A flexible thermoplastic film containing a barrier layer comprising: (a) 1¾ to 4% by weight of a plasticizer;(b) 1% to 4% by weight of acrylate/styrene polymer ;and (c) 98% to 92% by weight vinylidene chloride copolymer. 18. The film of claim 17 wherein the 1% to 4% of a plasticizer is selected from the group consisting of epoxidized linseed oil, epoxidized soybean oil, epoxidized alpha olefin, epoxidized ester, tetraethylene glycol di (2-ethylhexoate), epoxidized plasticizers, epoxy plasticizers, and combinations thereof. 19. The film of claim 17 wherein the acrylate/styrene polymer is a butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate/ styrene polymer, a butyl aorylate/butyl methacylate/methyl methacrylate polymer, a poly (alphamethylstyrene), or combinations thereof, 20. The film of claim 17 comprising by weight;about 2% epoxidized plasticizer;about 2% acrylate/styrene polymer;and about 96% vinylidene chloride copolymer. 21» The film of claim 17, comprising a multi-layer polymeric film comprising: first and second surface layers;and the vinylidene chloride barrier layer disposed between said surface layers» 3/920803.2/TXTJLS ‘ί! ίΛ J 22. The film of claim 21 wherein said surface layers comprise polyolefin materials. 23. The film of claim 21 in which the vinylidene chloride barrier layer includes 1% to 4% of a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of epoxidized linseed oil, epoxidised soybean oil, epoxidized alpha olefin, epoxidized ester, tetraethyiene glycol di (2-ethylhexoate), and other epoxidized plasticizers. 24. The film of claim 21 wherein the acrylate/styrene polymer is a butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate/ styrene polymer, a butyl acrylate/butyl methacrylate/methyl· methacrylate polymer, a poly (alphamethylstyrene), or combinations thereof. 25. The film of claim 22 wherein said polyolefin materials are selected from the group consisting of: ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, branched low density polyethylene, linear low density polyethylene, very low density polyethylene, and blends thereof. 25. The film of claim 21 wherein at least one layer of the multi-layer film is biaxially oriented. 27. The film of claim 21 wherein the multi-layer film has been cross-linked to a dosage less than 4.0 MR. 28. The film of claim 21, wherein said vinylidene chloride copolymer is elected from vinylidene chloride vinyl chloride copolymer, vinylidene vinylidene thereof. copolymer, vinylidene chloride vinylidene chloride acrylonitrile chloride methyl acrylate copolymer, butyl acrylate copolymer, other chloride alkyl acrylate copolymers, and mixtures 3/920803.2/TXTJLS 29. A composition, a film and/or a method of making a film substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the Examples. 30. The steps, features, compositions and compounds disclosed herein or referred to or indicated in the specification and/or claims of this application, individually or collectively, and any and all combinations of any two or more of said steps or features.
