  1. 1
THE CLAIMS DEFINING THE INVENTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:1. A system for transmitting satellite ephemeris information, said system including: 5 a communication medium;a first satellite positioning system (SPS) reference receiver having a first known position and having a first communication interface which is coupled to said communication medium, said first SPS reference receiver transmitting first packets of a first satellite ephemeris data into said communication medium, each of 10 said first packets having less than a subframe of satellite ephemeris data;a second SPS reference receiver having a second known position and having a second communication interface which is coupled to said communication medium, said second SPS reference receiver transmitting second packets of a second satellite ephemeris data into said communication medium, each of said 15 second packets having less than a subframe of satellite ephemeris data.
  2. 4
A system as in claim 2 wherein said communication medium includes a 2003246306 28 Apr 2006 packet data network, and wherein said first communication interface provides said first satellite ephemeris data in packet data form.
  3. 9
A system as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 8 wherein said first satellite ephemeris data is received from a first set of SPS satellites in view of said first SPS
  4. 10
10 reference receiver. 10. A system for processing satellite position information, said system including:a communication medium;15 a first satellite positioning system (SPS) reference receiver having a first known position and having a first communication interface which is coupled to said communication medium, said first SPS reference receiver transmitting first packets of a first satellite ephemeris data into said communication medium, each of said first packets having less than a subframe of satellite ephemeris data such that 20 said first packets are transmitted into said communication medium at a packets per second rate which is greater than one packet per 6 seconds.
  5. 13
A system substantially as hereindescribed with reference to any one of the embodiments of the invention illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
