Integrated packet latency aware qos scheduling using proportional fairness and weighted fair queuing for wireless integrated multimedia packet services

A planning procedure packet transmissions for use in providing communication services packages to client wireless subscriber devices via a hybrid network having a portion cable and wireless, the method comprising: determining an award of time for delivery of each respective package through a combination of wired and wireless portions of the network to each of a plurality of client wireless subscriber devices; register a respective time stamp indicating the time of entry into the network for each packet; route packets through the part of the network cable to the wireless part of the network, using a first scheduling algorithm; routing packets through the wireless part of the network using a second algorithm different from the first planning scheduling algorithm; with respect to a point on the cable network or a point in the wireless network before packet transmission by wireless link to respective client wireless subscriber devices, subtract a difference between the arrival time of each packet at the point before transmission over wireless link and input time indicated by the respective time stamp of the allocation of time for the package to compute a slack time representing a remaining amount of the allocation of time for the delivery of each respective package from said point across the network to one of the client wireless subscriber devices; at which point, reorder at least two of packets destined for different client wireless subscriber devices for routing according to at least one of the scheduling algorithms, based on the time gap computed for said at least two packages such way that will allow the supply of packages for different client wireless subscriber devices before expiry of the respective awards timing.
