High density coaxial jack

Abstract

A coaxial switching jack with a pair of front cable connection location section 30, a pair mounted in a housing 116 having a shaft assembly 152, 28 is described. The shaft assembly may each include a center conductor 154 and outer shield conductor 156. The center conductor is connected by a first spring 148, a shell conductor is connected by a second spring (150). When you insert one of the coaxial cable connector on the front cabling position deviates from the corresponding sub-spring and is connected to the central shaft assembly and a shell assembly off of the two conductors. The jack is also configured to have a coaxial cable connector providing electrical connection between the center and shell conductors of the second coaxial assembly, if inserted in the first shaft assembly. The connection between the center and shell conductors of the second coaxial assembly can be through a resistor assembly 140 that allows the selection of a desired electrical impedance.
