Manufacturing of photovoltaic subassemblies

Abstract

Method of manufacturing photovoltaic submodules, said method comprising: loading a continuous roll of flexible film and not electroconductive in a workstation, extracting the roll the first end of the film, defining the width thereof, to extend between a first elevation and a second elevation in a first position; moving a first end of a photovoltaic coating to the vicinity of the first position, such that the first end is approximately aligned with the first end of the liner for contacting the same, adhering the photovoltaic coating zone central most surface of a first glass substrate, the first substrate extending from the first elevation to the second elevation and extending the first end of the liner between the first and second elevations; displacement, in generally horizontal direction, the first end of the photovoltaic coating from the first position to a second position, to pull a first portion of the film for adhesive contact with the coating, extending the first part from the first end of the film to the roll; cut an opening through a second part of the film when the first portion is attached to the coating, the second portion extending from the first part of the film to the roll; displacement, in the generally horizontal direction, the first end of the photovoltaic coating from the second position to a third position, in order to drag the second part of the film to adhere to the coating, so that the opening in the second part is approximately aligned with the position of a cable in the photovoltaic coating; cutting width of the film to separate the third part of the film from the rest of the film on the roll, the third portion extending from the second part of the film to the second end of the film; displacement, in the generally horizontal direction, a second end of the photovoltaic liner opposite the first end, to the vicinity of the first position, to entrain the third of the film and adhere to the coating, so that the second end of the film is approximately aligned with the second end of the liner; It said method further comprising applying a separating element only a peripheral region of the major surface of the first glass substrate, once entrained third of the film for adhesion to the liner, attaching the spacer element a second substrate of glass first glass substrate with a gap therebetween and the peripheral zone surrounding a perimeter of the central area of the major surface; aligning a peripheral zone of the second glass substrate with the periphery of the first glass substrate, surrounding the periphery of the second substrate perimeter of a central area of the major surface of the second substrate; the pressure bonding of glass substrates first and second, with the provisions spacer element therebetween such that the central areas of the major surfaces of the glass substrates first and second stay facing each other and form a chamber air between an exposed flexible film and not electroconductive surface and the second glass substrate, the spacer being disposed between two glass substrates a sealing system with a thickness t from 0.25 to 2.5 mm (0 01 and 0.1 inches); the method further comprising applying an adhesive element on the outer perimetric channel after pressure bonding of the glass substrates first and second, being said outer perimetric channel separating element and extending between the peripheral areas of the glass substrates first and second.
