Method for determining the charge state of a particle filter installed in the exhaust gas line of an internal combustion engine and device for reducing the particle emissions of an internal combustion engine

Abstract

A method for determining the loading state of a turned-on in the exhaust line of an internal combustion engine, the particulate filter comprising the steps of:- Determining the exhaust gas volume flow in the flow direction of the exhaust gas after the particle filter 2,- Detecting the pressure prevailing in the exhaust gas line 1 in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas before the particle filter 2 pressure,- Comparing the determined downstream of the particulate filter 2 gas flow rate to the detected prevailing before the particulate filter 2 and pressure- Evaluating the result of the comparison taking into account the provided by the uncharged particle filter 2 exhaust gas counter pressure with a view to causing the particle filter charge exhaust back pressure.Disclosed is a means for reducing the particulate emissions of an internal combustion engine with a switched into the exhaust system 1 of an internal combustion particulate filter 2 and a means for determining the loading state of the particulate filter 2. The loading state determining means has a in the exhaust line 1 in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas before the particle filter 2 is also arranged pressure sensor 3 5. Both sensors 3, 5 are for the evaluation of the measurement results is connected to a control unit 18 for detecting the pressure prevailing in the exhaust system pressure as well as a arranged in the flow direction of the exhaust gas after the particle filter 2 volume flow sensor.
