Display having at least a luminescent surface

Display has a connecting layer (3) and layers of an electroluminescent lamp arranged on a supporting conductor plate. The connecting layer is either an electrically conducting layer, preferably isotropic in the direction of the layer thickness or a layer having a high dielectric constant, preferably more than 3.5. The lamp comprises a partially transparent support layer (4) provide with a transparent electrically conducting covering electrode layer (6) and a phosphorus layer (7) provided underneath. Preferred Features: A dielectric layer (10) having a light reflection property is arranged between the connecting layer and the phosphorus layer.
