CIRCULATING TUMOR CELLS (CTC's): EARLY ASSESSMENT OF TIME TO PROGRESSION SURVIVAL AND RESPONSE TO THERAPY IN METASTATIC CANCER PATIENTS

The cancer examination which has prediction usefulness to expect the time to the disease aggravation in the patient who has MBC based on existence of CTC and a number, whole survival, and the response to a treatment. CTC in blood is calculated using Cell Spotter (registered trademark) System. This system -- epithelial cells -- immunity -- condensing magnetically and labeling this cell fluorescently -- it is identification about CTC -- and it quantifies. A part of number is an element in prediction of the response to the time and the treatment to survival and aggravation of CTC detected by peripheral blood tumor load absolutely. The average number of hours of a patient's survival is dependent on the number of threshold values of CTC of 5 per 7.5 ml of blood. It is shown that detection of CTC in metastasis cancer expresses the new diagnostic element in the patient who has metastasis cancer, suggests the biological role of the existence of the tumor cells in blood, and may be considered to be a suitable substitute marker of a treatment clinical test with prospective detection of CTC.
