System for automatically identifying the physical location of network end devices
Abstract
And it is the method and system which identify automatically the physical location and/or end-to-end connectivity of a device, Each has peculiar ID, and these end devices are usually connected to the network access point, and each has a well-known physical location, and these access points are connected to the port of a switch. The first data showing the relation between peculiar ID of each end device (connected to the corresponding port in a switch) and a port is memorized in a memory means. The separate contact which is dependent on a request and accomplishes the first set that can be expressed in the port of a switch always, Both separate contacts that are dependent on a request and accomplish a set of 第 which can be expressed in an access point always can carry out cross connection by corresponding datacode, and it has them in order to make a change possible, when connecting a device to the port of a switch. It is dependent on a request, and the port of a switch is connected to contact of the first set, and an access point is connected to contact of a set of 第 always. Cross connection of the contact predetermined [of the sets of the first and 第] is carried out, and it is cross connection data, the present cross connection state during both sets is expressed, and the data of 第 which relates the port of a switch to a corresponding access point is gained and memorized. The connectivity table (CT) containing the third data showing the end-to-end connectivity of each end device connected to one access point in two or more access points is generated by using the data of the first and 第. If required, the physical location of each end device obtained using the third data will be updated always according to change of the first data and/or the data of 第.
