Abstract

Method for isolating a precursor endothelial cell from a biological sample, comprising: (a) contacting a sample containing, or suspected of containing a precursor endothelial cell with a detection reagent to form a complex of detection reagent-precursor endothelial cell, and (b) separating the complex of detection reagent-precursor endothelial cell of the biological sample thereby isolating the precursor endothelial cell, wherein the detection reagent is an antibody specific against Tie-2 and wherein the precursor endothelial cell is negative for CD34.
