Child-resistant closure, container and package convertible to non-child-resistant operation

CLOSING RESISTANT to CHILD, AND CONTAINER CONVERTIBLE PACK OPERATION NOT RESISTANT to CHILD. The present invention relates to a resistant packaging child, comprising a container (22) having an open mouth, a conical external surface (34) around the open mouth that widens away from the mouth and a wall (30) extending from the conical outer surface. A closure (24) has a base wall (40) and a peripheral skirt (42) having a first portion 44 adjacent the base wall and a second portion (46) removably connected to the first part. A first annular wall (54) extending from the base wall at a position radially inwardly of the skirt for spring engagement / seal with the conical outer surface of the container. A second wall (56) extends from the base wall at a position radially inwardly of the first wall and preferably a cone angle out with the base wall. The second part of the skirt and the wall on the container have locking elements (52, 38) to resist removal of the container closure in an operation mode resistant child in the absence of a force against the first wall to disengage the locking elements . The second part of the skirt is removable frangible mode of the first part to remove the locking members of the skirt so that the closure is secured on the container in a non-resistant mode of operation the child with the second received wall by pressure fitting within the mouth of the container.
