Retractable transfer device for a metering apparatus

Method for measuring products comprising: moving a device (42) from a retracted position to an extended position; product transfer to the transfer device; removing product from the transfer device by moving the transfer device from the extended position to the retracted position after product has been transferred to the transfer device, preventing the product from moving with the transfer device from the extended position to the position retracted; and repositioning product removed from the transfer device, characterized by transferring product comprising conveying a continuous stream of product which pushes product into the transfer device, preventing the product with the transfer device from the extended position to the retracted position moves butting with continuous product stream.
