Harmonic suppression mixer and tuner

A mixer harmonic suppression (100, 1700, 1800) for downconversion a radio frequency signal (RF) (102) comprising: a plurality of mixers switching (110) each having a local oscillator input (LO ) (114), an RF (112) input and an output mixer (116) wherein each switching mixer RF (112) input is driven by a proportional version of the RF (102) signal; signal weighting means (120, 130) for weighting signals that are mixed by mixer switch (110); An adder for summing the weighted mixer signals to produce the output (104, 106); and a LO generator with a timing input to generate a plurality of LO (LO1-LON) signals, wherein each LO signal operates at substantially the same frequency and having a predetermined phase relative displacement to each other LO signal, and which each LO signal drives a LO (114) of the respective switching mixers (110) input.
