The present invention relates to the method of generating the spinel compound of Formula LiTiO including the process of preparing the mixture of the organic lithium compound chosen from a lithium alcoholate, and the organic titanium compound chosen from titanic acid ester in a liquid medium, and the process of hydrolyzing the mixture of the above-mentioned compound. Moreover, the present invention relates to the LiTiO particulate material which may be generated in accordance with the method of having been indicated previously which has at least 10 m/g BET surface area. Especially the above-mentioned material is useful to manufacture of a lithium ion battery.
