Circuit arrangement for operating a high pressure discharge lamp

Abstract

The circuitry which operates a high-pressure electric discharge lamp has the down converter in which the output capacitor and the rectifier with which ignition chalk was prepared were formed. The amplitude of DC current generated by the down converter is controlled by a control circuit. In order to control resonance of the ignition chalk of being an output capacitor produced by rectification of DC current, the current reference signal of current control is adjusted just before each and immediately after depending on ramp voltage depending on the electric power consumed with the lamp.
