Method and system for collecting traffic data

A method for collecting traffic data to be realized with the aid of a particular computer located in a vehicle, and a computer network terminal comprising grouped into groups cells, each group comprising multiple adjacent cells in which the location of each particular computer is updated every time you change from one group to another, and characterized in that it comprises: boundaries defining geographical areas of each of the groups and detecting a first signaling message sent by the computer current terminal to the first geographic area on a change in the geographic area, storing the time of occurrence of the first signaling message as a first time and the subscriber identity included in the above first signaling message, detecting a second signaling message sent by the terminal equipment, relating to a change of the same terminal equipment from the first geographical area to the second geographical area, storing the time of occurrence of the second signaling message as a second time and the subscriber identity included in said second signaling message, using the first and the second time for the vehicle speed to move the particular computer, and processing of traffic data by selecting pairs based on the identities of the time subscriber included in the first and second signaling messages detected, calculating differences of the selected pairs of time, collecting the calculated differences to form a statistic distribution, and calculating a characteristic magnitude for the statistic distribution.
