Ring mechanism
Abstract
Ring mechanism with spring strips 1, to which openable ring clips 2 are fastened, and a holding device, in which the spring strips 1 are held movably between an open and a closed position. In order to produce a ring mechanism which is characterized by a lower weight than conventional ring mechanisms and, on account of its construction, makes possible simple and thus more rapid production, the holding device is made in two parts, and the two side areas of the spring strips 1 are each held in their own holding device part 3, 4. <IMAGE>

The present invention relates to a ring mechanism with spring strips and ring clips according to the preamble of claim 1.
In known ring mechanisms, the holder of the spring strips consists of a closed spring box which encloses the spring strips and in which the spring strips are movably mounted. The spring box is provided with openings through which the ring clips attached to the spring strips are passed.
The more spring clips are provided, the more openings are required in the spring box.
A disadvantage of known ring mechanisms is the high material consumption and the associated weight.
Making the openings in the spring box has also proven to be complex, since this process has a strong influence on the production times due to the large numbers in which such ring mechanisms are produced.
The aim of the present invention is therefore a ring mechanism which is characterized by a lower weight than conventional ring mechanisms and which, due to its design, enables simple and therefore faster production.
According to the invention, this is made possible by the characterizing features of claim 1.
As a result, the holder can be manufactured with very little material expenditure. Whole pen boxes, as previously used, are not required. This makes the ring mechanism much lighter. The manufacturing costs are reduced quite considerably.
The characterizing features of claim 2 result in a maximum of material savings that can be achieved, since the spring strips are only held in holders at their ends.
Due to the features of claim 3, the brackets can be attached in a simple manner in the folder.
The features of claim 4 allow easy mounting of the ring mechanism on the folder, as well as easy mounting of the mounting parts on the spring strips.
Due to the features of claims 5 and 6, the holder parts can be produced by means of injection molding processes. The mounting parts also serve to limit the spring travel of the spring strips.
The following is a detailed description of the ring mechanism according to the invention. It shows
1 shows a side view of a ring mechanism according to the invention
Fig. 2 is a plan view of a ring mechanism according to the invention
3 shows a front view of a ring mechanism according to the invention in the closed position
4 shows a front view of a ring mechanism according to the invention in the open position
In Fig. 1, a plurality of ring brackets 2 are arranged on spring strips 1. In each case in the outer end regions of the spring strips 1, mounting parts 3, 4 are arranged in which the spring strips 1 are held.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the spring strips 1 are only held in their outermost end regions by the holding parts 3, 4. In this way, a maximum of material savings compared to conventional ring mechanisms can be achieved, since there the entire area between the mounting parts 3, 4 is also designed as a mounting.
In principle, however, solutions are also conceivable in which the holder parts 3, 4 enclose a larger part of the spring strips, whereby it is also entirely possible that openings must be provided in the holder parts 3, 4 through which the ring brackets 2 can be pushed. Such an embodiment would nevertheless bring about a material saving and therefore a weight or cost saving compared to conventional embodiments.
The spring strips are movably held in the holder parts (3, 4) in a known manner (see in particular FIGS. 3 and 4). These are attached to the folder (not shown) via holes.
The ring mechanism is mounted on the folder in a known manner, for example by riveting or screwing. Before this, the mounting parts 3, 4 are pushed laterally onto the spring strips, which, due to the opening 6 of the mounting parts 3, 4, can be pushed exactly into them.
