Seal for containers
Abstract
An annular-gap seal for containers 1 comprises a cap 4, which can be screwed onto the neck 2 of the container 1, and a seal part 10 which is inserted into the opening of the container neck 2 and of which the stopper 12 is assigned, for sealing purposes, an opening 19 provided in the base 18 of the cap 4. In order that, when the cap 4 is unscrewed from the container neck 2 to the full extent, the seal part 10 is drawn out of the latter, the cap 4 is coupled to the seal part 10 such that it can be displaced to a limited extent in the direction of the axis 23 of the container neck 2. By virtue of this type of connection between the cap 4 and the seal part 10, the latter remains in the container neck 2 when only the annular gap is opened. <IMAGE>

The invention relates to a closure for containers with a cap that can be screwed onto the neck of the container, with a closure part inserted into the mouth of the neck of the container and with a plug on the closure part, the free end of which is assigned to an opening provided in the bottom of the cap.
Such closures, which are also referred to as annular gap closures, are known.
Such an annular gap closure is known from US Pat. No. 4,690,304 A. This known closure has a cap and a closure part which is inserted into the neck of the container and has a plug which is assigned to an opening provided in the bottom of the cap. On the inner surface of the cap, helical grooves are provided into which
Engage projections on the closure part. By rotating the cap, it can be moved relative to the closure part in order to move the plug on the closure part into or out of the position that engages in the opening in the cap. The cap can be removed, but the closure part remains in the neck of the container.
The invention is based on the object of developing the known annular gap closure so that the closure part for refilling the container with liquid or pasty medium can easily be pulled out of the container neck without a tool or the like being required.
According to the invention this object is achieved in that the cap is coupled to the closure part in the direction of the axis of the neck of the container to a limited extent that on
Closure part and / or stops delimiting the displacement path are provided on the cap and that the cap together with the closure part coupled to it can be screwed onto the neck of the container and unscrewed from the neck of the container.
Further advantageous embodiments of the closure according to the invention are the subject of the dependent subclaims.
In the embodiment of the annular gap closure according to the invention, the cap is screwed completely onto the container neck in the closed position and the opening in the bottom of the cap is closed by the plug of the closure part. When the cap is partially unscrewed, the plug of the closure part is pulled out of the opening in the bottom of the cap, so that the container contents can flow out or be squeezed out through the annular gap thus formed. In order to pull the closure part completely out of the neck of the container in the case of the annular gap closure according to the invention, it is sufficient to unscrew the cap further from the container neck so that at the end of the path of relative displacement between closure part and cap, i.e. when the stops limiting the displacement are in contact with one another, the closure part is removed is pulled out of the neck of the container. Conversely, it is sufficient to insert the
Closing part in the container neck, to screw the cap with the closure part coupled to it (again) onto the container neck, the closure part being pushed back into the free end of the neck of the container.
Further details of the invention emerge from the following description, in which reference is made to the drawing, in which a closure according to the invention is partially in the
Section is shown.
A container 1 has a neck 2 which is provided on its outside with a thread 3 (for example a three-start thread). A cap 4 is screwed over the neck 2 of the container 1
The closed position (the position shown), in which the cap 4 is fully screwed onto the neck 2 of the container 1, is in addition to the friction between the thread 6 provided on the inside of the jacket 5 of the cap 4 and the thread 3 on the container neck 2 by an annular rib 7 provided on the container neck 2 on the outside between the thread 2 and the actual container 1, with an essentially triangular cross-section and one associated therewith, inwardly projecting annular rib 8 on the jacket 5 of the cap 4 is defined and secured. To open the container 1, the cap 4 must first be rotated with a correspondingly greater force so that the ribs 7 and 8 on the neck 2 of the container 1 and on the jacket 5 of the cap 4 come past one another.
In the mouth of the neck 2 of the container 1, a closure part 10 is inserted, which consists of a substantially sleeve-shaped outer part 11 and a coaxial to this and to
Axis 23 of the neck 2 coaxial plug 12 consists. The plug 12 is connected to the outer part 11 of the closure part 10 via at least two, preferably three webs 13.
The closure part 10 is provided on the outside of its outer part 11 by an annular rib 14 which engages in an inwardly open groove 15 in the mouth of the neck 2,
AT 406145 Β recorded. In addition, the position of the closure part 10 is secured by the fact that it is seated with a step 16 on its outer part 11 on the end face 17 of the neck 2.
In the closed position, the outer part 11 of the closure part 10 protrudes to the inside of the bottom 18 of the cap 4 and the plug 12 protrudes with its stepped conical end into an opening 19 in the bottom 18 of the cap 4 and closes the opening 19.
On the bottom 18 of the cap 4, a collar 20 in the form of a cylinder jacket protruding into the interior thereof, which engages in the interior of the outer part 11 of the closure part 10.
A rib 21 is provided on the outside of the collar 20 and an inwardly pointing rib 22 is provided on the free end of the outer part 11. It is thereby achieved that the cap 4 is coupled to the closure part 10 in the direction of the axis 23 of the neck 2 in a limited manner. When unscrewing the cap 4 only this is initially moved upwards and the plug 12 gradually comes out of the opening 19 in the bottom 18 of the cap 4, so that an annular gap-shaped exit opening is formed. As a result, the contents of the container can flow out through the neck 2 between the webs 13, which connect the plug 12 to the outer part 11 of the closure part 10, and through the opening 19, which is more or less open in the form of an annular gap, or can be squeezed out through this.
If the cap 4 is unscrewed further, a position is reached in which the ribs 21 and 22 rest against one another, so that the closure part 10 is pulled out of the neck 2 when the cap 4 is completely unscrewed from the neck 2.
Before the ribs 21 and 22 come into contact with one another and as the cap 4 continues to be unscrewed, the closure part 10 is pulled out of the neck 2 of the container 1, the inwardly pointing rib 8 on the jacket 5 of the cap 4 comes into contact with another, larger one formed rib 30 on the outside of the neck 2, so that the further unscrewing of the cap 4 is opposed to a resistance. If only the shutter is open, ie only the opening 19 in the cap 4 is to be released to a greater or lesser extent, the cap 4 is only unscrewed until the aforementioned resistance occurs. In this way, when the closure according to the invention is opened normally, the closure part 10 is prevented from being unintentionally pulled out of the neck 2.
Only when you want to pull the closure part 10 out of the neck 2, for example to refill the container, the cap 4 is further loosened and finally unscrewed from the neck 2, the rib 8 on the jacket 5 of the cap 4 on the rib 30 on Neck 2 of the container 1 moves past and finally the ribs 21 and 22 bear against one another and when the cap 4 is unscrewed, the closure part 10 is pulled out of the neck 2.
An advantage of the construction of the annular gap closure according to the invention is that the closure part 10 remains held on the cap 4, even if the cap 4 and closure part 10 of the closure according to the invention have been completely removed from the container 1. To attach the closure, which consists of the cap 4 and the closure part 10, to the container 1, it is sufficient to screw the cap 4 onto the neck 2 so that the closure part 10 rests on the bottom 18 through the contact of the free edge of its outer part 11 the cap 4 is pressed into the mouth of the neck 2 until the rib 14 engages in the groove 15. This property of the closure according to the invention also makes it possible, after the first filling of the container 1, to machine the closure easily and without the fact that it consists of two parts, namely the cap 4 and the closure part 10, causing difficulties To screw container 1 and to close it.
The closure part 10 can be coupled to the cap 4 by simply pushing it into one another, since the ribs 21 and 22 have conical run-up surfaces 28 and 29, respectively, on one side.
In summary, an embodiment of the invention can be presented as follows:
An annular gap closure for container 1 consists of a cap 4 that can be screwed onto the neck 2 of the container 1 and a closure part 10 inserted into the mouth of the neck 2 of the container 1, the stopper 12 of which is assigned to an opening 19 provided in the bottom 18 of the cap 4 for closing the same is. So that the closure part 10 is pulled out of the latter when the cap 4 is completely unscrewed from the neck 2 of the container 1, the cap 4 is coupled to the closure part 10 in the direction of the axis 23 of the neck 2 of the container 1 so that it can be displaced to a limited extent. Due to the connection between the cap 4 and the closure part 10, the latter remains in the neck 2 of the container 1 if only the opening 19 in the cap 4 is opened to form an annular gap.
