Knee guide rails for fastening to cups, bands and the like
Abstract
In the case of pivotably interconnected knee guide rails 1, 2 for fastening to cups, bands and the like of knee joint ortheses, supporting appliances or lower leg prostheses, in a first rail 1 there are two arcuate guide 8, 9, into which engage bolts or the like of the second rail 2 which limit the pivot angle of the two rails 1, 2. A further bolt of the like seated in one rail engages into a further arcuate guide 3 of the other rail 2, the said further arcuate guide extending obliquely to the longitudinal axis of this other rail 2. So that the natural cyclic movement can be copied more effectively, the arcuate guide 3, which extends obliquely to the longitudinal axis 4 of the second rail 2, has a curvature, the convex side 5 of which points in the direction of the first rail 1 when the knee guide rails 1, 2 are in an angled position. <IMAGE>

The parent patent 399092 refers to pivotally interconnected knee guide rails for attachment to trays, belts u. Like. Of knee braces, braces or lower leg prosthesis, wherein two arcuate guides are provided in a first rail, in the pivot angle of the two rails limiting pin od. dgi. engage the second rail.
As an invention is characterized in the parent patent that a sitting in a rail further bolt or the like. engages in a further arcuate guide of the other rail, di e extends obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the other rail.
As already stated in the parent patent, orthoses with limited joint movement are used in the early functional treatment of the knee joint. The use is carried out, for example postoperatively in knee joint surgery for immobilization after second degree knee injuries that do not require surgery, and for later mobilization; postoperatively instead of a plaster to avoid subluxation of the tibia after anterior and posterior cruciate ligament injury or reconstruction; for the safe stabilization of injured or surgically treated collateral ligaments.
By the invention of the parent patent pivotally interconnected knee guide rails could be created, which can understand the natural movement of the knee joint in more detail than the previously known knee guide rails.
Pivotally interconnected knee guide rails with The inventive features of the parent patent could also be used for lower leg prostheses, if the lower leg stump is so short that a determination of the prosthesis on the thigh is necessary.
In an embodiment shown in the parent patent, the arcuate guide of the second rail is curved so that in an angled position of the knee guide rails has the concave side of the curve in the direction of the first rail. Numerous experiments and studies have now shown that the natural movement of the knee joint can be reproduced even better when the arcuate guide inverted mirror image is arranged for Ausführungsbeispiei the parent patent.
The present invention additional patent is therefore characterized in that the oblique to the longitudinal axis of the second rail extending arcuate guide has a curvature whose convex side in the angled position of the Kniefüh rungsschienen points towards the first rail.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the arcuate guide, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the second rail, widens slightly from bottom to top.
The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings, without being limited to this example. FIG. 1 shows an upper rail, ie a rail to be fastened to the thigh in a known manner with shells, straps and the like, and FIG.
represents the associated bottom rail, the outlines of the top rail are indicated by dashed lines. Fig is the arcuate guide alone again, with dimensions are entered.
According to the drawings, an upper rail 1 and a lower rail 2 are provided. The lower rail 2 has an arcuate guide 3, which is oblique to the longitudinal axis 4 of the lower rail 2 and thus to the longitudinal axis of the lower leg runs.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the convex side 5 of the arcuate guide 3 points in the direction of the upper rail 1.
From the dimensions of Fig. 3 it follows that the arcuate guide 3, seen in the longitudinal direction of the lower rail 2, extends slightly from bottom to top. The dimensions of course depend on the diameter of the engaging in the guide 3 bolt, which is not shown for reasons of clarity.
As in the parent patent allows a series of threaded holes 6 in the lower rail 2, the insertion of bolts, the holes 6, as far as bolts are used to limit the extension and the limitation of flexion serve.
The upper rail 1 is provided with a bore 7, in which, as in the parent patent, a sleeve held by a bolt is inserted, which can slide in the arcuate guide 3. Furthermore, guides 8 and 9 are arranged in the upper rail 1, in d ie engage the bolts inserted in the holes 6 or their bolt heads. In cooperation with the guide 3, the rails 1.2 are thereby guided so that the natural movement in the knee is perfectly reproduced.
In the drawings, the dimensions of a preferred embodiment are registered, but to which the invention is not limited.
in the context of the invention, the same modifications are possible, as they have already been described in the Stampatent.
