The invention relates to a seat cushion, in particular an aircraft seat, with a support body of a foam plastic and with a spring device, which are enveloped with a fabric and in particular detachably connected.
A well-known seat cushion for aircraft - according to US-A-3,762,766 - consists of several component groups, in which the seat height can be adjusted individually relative to the floor level by a built-in seat cushion spring device. This height-adjustable spring device is formed by an air cushion, which has an airtight outer skin and is filled inside with a plastic foam, which has the property to store air in its lines. The respective amount of air and the associated height of the air cushion can be controlled by a separate valve device. This air cushion rests on a metal base plate, which at her Oberse It is surrounded by its own reinforcement frame. Above the air cushion, an own voluminous foam cushion is arranged. A cushion cover surrounds the foam pad and the air cushion and is secured to the underside of the metal base frame by Velcro or similar. This results in a seat unit, which is stabilized only by a cushion cover in its shape. In this known seat structure, no increased seating comfort can be achieved, since the height adjustable air cushion is filled only with a self-receiving air foam plastic and the user of such a seat at the high-load areas sinks more than in the other areas. Furthermore, the large-volume running foam pad on the one hand during cleaning and on the other hand in the event of replacement due to damage to increased costs.
A cushion, consisting of two mutually distanced layer arranged n of polyurethane foam, with a different density, which are foamed in a body of a mixture of natural latex and hair of various animals, is known from DE-A-29 10 160. The integrally formed cushion cushion for the seat cushion is in addition to that Side, which faces the user of the seat, provided with a textile cover to protect the cushion cushion. As a result, a unitary component is created, which must be removed in its entirety in order to clean this or even in the case of exchange of damage must be changed.
Another known seat with a foam plastic foam - according to WO-A1-87 / 06894 the same applicant - consists of a foam plastic with a support body made of an open-cell, elastic plastic foam with a first density and a flame retardant layer of an open-cell, provided with rammschutzmittel, elastic foam plastic with a second to the first different volume weight. The plastic foam and the flame retardant layer are connected to each other, in particular by a foaming process, and are surrounded by a flame-retardant covering material. In order to achieve sufficient air permeability of such a pad, was also suggested after piercing needles, after finishing the pad, so that a corresponding exchange of air is possible These upholstery have proven themselves very well in practice, however, it has been shown that especially in extreme weather conditions or under different climatic conditions, the seating comfort of the seats for the intended use in vehicles was not sufficient.
Furthermore, there are already seats for public transport known - according to DE-GM 85 06 816 - which have a seat cushion, which is covered with a seat cover, the seat cover and the seat cushion made of a flame retardant and low-smoke material. In many cases, the procedure is such that a glass fiber mat is arranged between the flame-retardant seat cover and the seat cushion, which is usually made of plastic foam, which is intended to prevent a burning through of the seat cover in the direction of the seat cushion. However, it has been shown that in many cases, the flame is generated from the bottom and the plastic foam of the seat cushion tends to burn with heavy smoke, making the public transport in case of fire in a very short time so smoked that an orientation for inmates little more is possible. Accordingly, it is provided in this known seat that a fire-retardant plate is disposed below the seat cushion in the supporting part of the seat. This requires the use of a special profile for holding the seat cushion and an additional expense due to the arrangement of the fire-retardant plate.
Even with this He embodiment could not satisfy the seat ventilation.
Seats with upholstery made of foam plastic are widely used in modern vehicle construction. Above all, they are used in rail and road vehicles but predominantly in aircraft. While already applicable to rail vehicles regulations regarding the self-extinguishing training of the materials used or Although smoke regulations require very strict guidelines, they are even exceeded by the regulations in the aircraft industry. For example, in the case of seats approved for use in aircraft, a test is required in which the cushions, in their intended equipment, are directly exposed to a flame from a burner.
AT 399 488 B
This flame acts directly on the cushion over a period of two minutes, after which the flame is extinguished or Will get removed. The upholstery will, if until the flames have not extinguished themselves, they are extinguished after five minutes. After this burn test, the weight loss of the pad must not exceed 10%. In order to meet these extremely strict regulations, while at the same time achieving a high seat comfort in the seats during the long-lasting air travel and low weight, seat cushions were glued together from different, flame retardant, open-cell, elastic soft foam plastics with different densities.
Such a known vehicle seat - according to EP-A1 190 064 - consists of several layers of needle felt, which are enveloped by a flame-resistant fabric. Between the fabric and the individual layers of needled nonwoven are to reduce damage by vandal reinforcing mats made of metal or Glass fibers arranged. By bonding the individual layers and the multiple layers of this vandal protective layer is in the known Vehicle seat sufficient ventilation barely achievable.
In another known seat for airplanes, to realize the complicated spatial shape of the seat cushion easier, the support body of a flame retardant offset, formed in one piece mold part, the surface of which is coated with a flame retardant and then with a flame-resistant fabric. With the known seats, however, the new tightened safety regulations and test regulations for aircraft seats could not be met.
The invention has for its object to provide a seat cushion that is the extraordinary loads of seat cushions, especially in public vehicles, especially aircraft seats justice and a long life simple maintenance, especially cleanliness of such seat cushions and a perfect over longer period of use seating comfort enable.<
This object of the invention is achieved in that the support body consists of a support member and an attachment of foam plastic and that in the support member, the spring device forming spring core is embedded in wires and that at least one of the. Supporting surface facing away from the surface of the attachment part, a flame retardant layer of flame-retardant plastic foam is arranged and connected thereto. Advantageously, in this embodiment of the seat cushion, that the long-life components of such a seat cushion and those areas that are hardly exposed to contamination and hygienic load by the user, of those parts of the body exhalations of the user and in the case of Fiammeinwirkung of the high temperatures are most heavily loaded, can be easily separated. This makes it possible, the attachment depending on the degree of contamination or its properties relating to seating comfort n, regardless of the majority of the structural parts having part of the seat cushion to separate. Thus, the cost of such seat cushion, especially in aircraft seats over the life of an aircraft can be significantly reduced, and it is also possible to meet high demands on the purity and hygiene of the user immediately facing areas of the seat cushion. In addition, it is now possible to use for different types of seating cushions, such as Business Class or Economyclass same basic components that can be equipped with quality and thus priced different essay parts. Moreover, it is now also possible to take into account the specific circumstances of the use of such aircraft, for example, in short-haul or long-haul traffic, since then attachments with different climate properties, eg better ventilation for long-haul flights or a height ere hardness, in order to oppose a wear greater resistance, are usable.
According to another embodiment of the invention, it is advantageous if the flame retardant layer protrudes beyond the attachment part in the direction of the support member and overlaps at least the side edges of the support member, whereby a proper positioning of the attachment part is achieved on the support member and thus a conversion of the seats for the purpose of renewal of the attachment or To equip with a different property having attachment parts, especially after cleaning quickly and inexpensively can be performed. Furthermore, this makes it possible to provide only one of the two parts of the support body with a flame retardant layer made of an elastic plastic foam, which by the supporting part overlapping formation of this layer in the fire load most heavily loaded areas of the support member also a Ausreic This protection against burning is achieved.
According to an advantageous development is provided that between the flame retardant layer and / or the attachment part and the support part in the region of directly adjacent bearing surfaces of the support part and the attachment part and / or in the overlap region of the flame retardant layer, especially velcro closures, are arranged because it makes an effective, achieved quickly detachable and low weight device for connecting the support member with the attachment part
AT 399 488 B becomes. In particular, this also creates a tight seal between the flameproofing layer and the attachment part or supporting part, so that the penetration of the flame between the flameproofing layer and the supporting part or attachment part is reliably prevented.
But it is also possible that the support part, a connecting part of a connecting device, such as a Velcro Kiettban danordnung between this and the fabric are arranged, because a change of the fabric is achieved even with a divisible in approach and support seat cushion.
According to an advantageous development is provided that the support part in the support surface and possibly covered by the intermediate layer, adjacent surface areas with a flame-retardant, preferably elastically deformable cover material is laminated, which is optionally connected via an adhesive layer to the support member, whereby a very stable to be manufactured in series with a high standard of quality, which meets the high requirements of aviation technology, and furthermore very easy to handle during assembly, is reached.
It is also possible that between the attachment and / or the support member, as well as the flame retardant and / or the flame retardant fabric from a high temperature resistant Fibers or Threads existing intermediate layer is arranged. The arrangement of an intermediate layer consisting of high-temperature-resistant fibers and filaments makes it possible to control fire behavior insofar as as the intermediate layer arranged near this surface, the majority of the mass of material is sheathed and, therefore, in the case of fire, only a relatively small volume, which also consists of flame-retardant material, is present and therefore the overall fire behavior as well as the further spread of the fire is prevented by dripping a larger amount of the volume.
Furthermore, an embodiment of advantage in which the fibers or filaments of the intermediate layer of carbon, metal, polyester, Kevlar, ceramic, Teflon or other high-temperature resistant plastics, since by these materials in the case of exposure to flame, a barrier partially through a charring as well as a total by the this material ien inherent properties is achieved.
According to an advantageous development is provided in that the spring core is in a region which is distanced from an end edge of the support element, in particular in the rear half of the supporting part which is distanced from this, is foamed in these, because the area of the seat cushion, which of the high weight load, especially exposed to a strongly changing load, is effectively protected against premature wear and destruction and in addition distributed over the seat distributed in their elasticity differences zones are achieved which in addition to increasing the creep strength also serve to increase the seating comfort.
But it is also possible that the spring core is biased and in its relaxed position has a greater height than a thickness of the support member, because by the prestressed state of the spring core according to the load characteristics For springs already at small spring wire thicknesses and thus at a low weight of the spring core, a corresponding spring effect is achieved.
According to an advantageous development, it is possible if contact surfaces of the spring core are arranged at a distance from the support surface of the support member and / or its underside, because this achieves elastic support of the spring core in the support member and protection of the cover material enveloping the support member or attachment.
Furthermore, an education is advantageous, in which in the region of the nodes of longitudinal and transverse wires of the spring core in the direction of the bearing surfaces recessed grooves are arranged in the underside of the support member and protruding over the groove bottom projections approximately to the extent of a groove depth, are distanced in the direction of the bottom of the support surface of the spring core, whereby a direct support of the metal parts of the spring core on the Tragg estell is avoided for the seat cushion and therefore a longer service life for the interposed fabric or the flame-retardant coating material is achieved.
According to an advantageous development, it is possible that at least the attachment part with vertical 2u extending the bearing surfaces openings or The arrangement of openings, cavities or openings in the attachment causes a differentiation in the strength and eggastizitätsverhatten in the form of weakening cross sections to adapt the properties directly in the surface adjacent zones. Furthermore, the arrangement of these breakthroughs a better ventilation of the attachment for the removal of moisture, as they can occur in climatic changes, achieved.
But it is also possible that the openings, cavities or openings in the region of perpendicular to the end edge extending side edges at least of the attachment part, whereby the weakening cross sections or ventilation openings can be arranged in a region of the lowest load of the attachment part.
AT 399 488 Β to
According to an advantageous development, it is possible for the flame retardant layer and / or the intermediate layer to overlap the side edges and optionally at least edge regions of the underside of the support part, since the overlap region is thereby laid on the underside of the seat cushion and enclosing the side edges of the support part is achieved.
It is also possible the covering material and / or the flameproofing layer of the supporting part protrude beyond the bearing surface in the direction of the attachment part and overlap at least partial areas of the side edges and optionally at least edge areas of the surface, whereby a substantially plate-shaped composite body of the foam plastic and a coating is achieved, its production is possible in large quantities and therefore allows a very inexpensive replacement part for the ongoing maintenance of the seats.
It is also advantageous if a density of the elastic, in particular open-cell foam plastic of the attachment is smaller than a density of a preferably elastic and / or open-cell foam plastic of the support member, because this strength for the support member is achieved, through which a prolonged use is possible ,
Another advantage is that the support member and / or the attachment consists of several, preferably a different density having areas, in particular Plattenteile.aus foam plastic, whereby a weight optimization with respect to the, a different load having zones, is achieved.
But it is also advantageous if a density of a preferably open-cell and / or elastic foam plastic the flame retardant layer corresponds approximately to the density of the foam plastic of the attachment and / or the Tragteiis, whereby in particular a high level of comfort is achieved by the directly adjacent to the surface, a small volume weight having material.
Furthermore, however, it is also possible for the surface areas of the support part adjacent to the support surface to be coated with the flameproofing and / or intermediate layer, whereby adequate protection of the support part in the case of fire and overall of the seat cushion is achieved on the underside facing the cabin floor.
Finally, it is also possible that the plastic foam of the support member on the fabric or on an associated with this, liquid-tight intermediate layer, for example, a glued on the fabric or sealed plastic film, eg a polyethylene film is foamed, whereby the manufacturing costs and the material weight for the Hers Position of the support member can be reduced by eliminating an additional adhesive layer between the fabric and the plastic foam.
For a better understanding of the invention, this will be explained in more detail below with reference to the embodiments shown in the drawings.

In Figure 1, a double seat 1 is shown with two seats 2, each of the seats 2 consists of a backrest 3 and a seat cushion 4. The seat cushion 4 of the seats 2 are constructed identically. The backrest 3 and the seat cushion 4 are inserted into a support frame 5. The support frame 5 can also have any other shape.
As is indicated schematically, the seat cushion 4 on a support body 6, which is formed from a support member 7 and an attachment part 8
In Figures 2 to 4, the training of erfindungsg emäßen seat cushion 4 shown closer.
As can be seen in more detail from these illustrations, a spring core 9 is embedded in the support part 7. This lies in a rear, away from a front edge 10 half of the seat cushion 4 and extends almost over a full thickness 11 of the support member 7, that is, from a bottom 12 to a Auflagefiäche
AT 399 488 Β
13th The underside 12, side edges 14 and a rear end edge 15 are covered with a fabric 16, which also extends over the front end edge 10. Thus, only the support surface 13 remains without coating through the fabric 16.
As can be seen further from the illustration, in particular in Figure 2, are nodes 17 of longitudinal or Cross wires 18,19 arranged in the region of grooves 20 in the bottom 12 of the support member 7. Thus, the projecting between the grooves 20 projections 21 project beyond a lower support surface 22 of the spring core 9, so that it be in the resting of the seat pouch 4 on a planar support frame 5 can not come to a premature destruction of the fabric 16 by the nodes 17 and In these areas, a longer life of the fabric 16 is achieved.
In addition, it is also possible, for example, at least between the support surface 22 of the spring core 9 and the bottom 12 or the arranged on this fabric 16, an intermediate layer 23 of high-strength fibers or Threads in the form of a knitted fabric, net, grid or the like. to arrange, made of metal, coal, plastic, ceramic or the like. exist and additionally or simultaneously can be high temperature resistant. However, this intermediate layer 23 can also, if desired, extend over the end edge 10, the side edges 14 and the rear end edge 15, ie over the entire surface, with the exception of the support surface 13.
On the Aussagefläche 13 of the support member Velcro straps 24 are further arranged, which cooperate with opposite Velcro straps 25 of hook and loop fasteners 26 which are arranged on the support surface 13 opposite Aufiagefläche 27 of the attachment part 8. These Velcro closures 26 serve to attach the attachment 8 on the support member 7 releasably.
The support member 7 may be integrally made of a plastic foam. It is also possible to make this plastic foam open-celled and, moreover, it can have different elasticity values-in adaptation to the particular application.
Of course, it is also possible in a modification of this training, the support member, as shown by dashed lines, also composed of several layers 28,29,30 different foamed plastics 31,32,33.
However, especially preferred is one. Training in which the spring core 9 foamed into the support member 7 and is formed. It is possible I bias the spring core 9 in the foam mold for the support member 7, ie according to the strength properties of springs to specify a higher spring force or to achieve a corresponding spring behavior when using a smaller wire thickness of the springs. However, this also makes it possible to keep the weight of the spring core 9 and thus of the wire rope 7 low.
The attachment 8 is formed from a preferably tapered from the end edge 10 in the direction of the end edge 15 foamed plastic 34, but advantageously not necessarily formed with a support member 7 lower density. The attachment 8 is coated on a top 35 and in the direction of the support member 7, the support surface 27 of the attachment part 8 überragend with a flame retardant layer 36. Also, the attachment can between a flame retardant, open-cell foam plastic 38 formed flame retardant layer 36 and the foam plastic 34 with an intermediate layer 37 ver be seen. This intermediate layer 37 may, like the intermediate layer 23 of high-strength fibers or .. Threads in the form of a knitted fabric, net, grid or the like. be formed of metal, Kohie, plastic, ceramic or the like. or may consist of any combinations thereof and be additionally or simultaneously also high temperature resistant. If the intermediate layer 37 is arranged, it is preferably by fibers or Threads made of carbon, metal, polyester, Kevlar, ceramic, Teflon or other high-temperature resistant plastics formed which on the foam plastic 34 of the attachment 8 facing surface 39 of the flame retardant layer 36 forming foam plastic 38 is arranged, in particular glued to this. The formed by the foam plastic 38 and intermediate layer 37 flame retardant layer 36 and optionally the intermediate layer 37 is connected to a top surface 35 facing connecting surface 40 of the plastic foam 34 of the support member 7, in especially glued to this or foamed on this or one connected to the flame retardant layer 36, liquid-tight barrier film.
The areas of the flame retardant layer 36 which project beyond the bearing surfaces 13 and / or 27 or The intermediate layer 37 form an overlap region with the stimuli edges 10, 15 and the side edges 14 of the support part 7. They are preferably in the overlap region on the support member 7 and on the fabric 16 of the support member 7 and on the flame retardant layer 36 and attached to the intermediate layer 37 arranged Velcro straps 41,42. As a result, the end edges 10, 15 and side edges 14 are covered by the flameproofing layer 36 approximately in the region of the underside 12. On the bottom 12 of the support member 7 and the covering material 7 arranged on the cover fabric 16 are Velcro tape 43 for the attachment of the attachment part 8 and the support member 7 to the region of its bottom 12 comprehensive, especially flame-retardant Bezu arranged substance 44. An attachment of the seat cushion 4 on a frame part 45th
AT 399 488 Β of the support frame 5 of the double seat 1 is also possible via Velcro 43.
As shown by dashed lines, it is possible, preferably in the attachment part 8 or the foam plastic 34 openings 46 or cavities 47 provide. Through these breakthroughs 46 and Cavities 47, it is possible in the attachment part 8 or in the support member 7 different zones of strength or Elasticity, whereby the different loads or sitting comfort can be accommodated by designing such zones. Furthermore, these breakthroughs 46 and Cavities 47 better ventilation in the top of the seat 2 immediately adjacent areas, resulting in the use of these seats under strongly changing conditions or even with long-term contact, eg beneficial for long-haul flights.
5, the seat cushion 4 is shown with the support member 7 and the attachment part 8 in a view from below, wherein the same reference numerals are used for the same parts. The support member 7 is overlapped at the end edge 10, end edge 15 and the side edges 14 of the flame retardant layer 36 in the direction of the bottom 12. In the region of the rear end edge 15, the flameproof layer 36 overlaps the underside 12 of the support member 7 in the direction of the front end edge 10. In this area, the Velcro tape 41 is disposed on the underside 12 of the support member 7 forming fabric 16, for example by gluing, welding etc. and forms there with the Velcro strip 42, which is arranged on the flame-retardant layer 36, the hook-and-loop closure 26 for fastening the attachment part 8 in the region of the rear end 15 on the support part 7. As further indicated by dashed lines, it is also possible Velcro fasteners 26 in the region of the side edges 14 between the support member. 7 and the attachment 8 for fixing the support member 7 in the region of the side edges 14 superior flame retardant layer 36 to order.
ln approximately in the rear third of the support member 7 is preferably foamed in the foam plastic 32 of the support member 7 of the spring core 9. In the region of the nodes 17 between the longitudinal wire 18 and the transverse wire 19 of the spring core 9, the grooves 20 are arranged, which give recesses with respect to the bottom 12. As a result, the grooves 20 associated areas are exposed to a frame member 45, whereby the risk of damaging or Chafing of the fabric 16 is prevented.
Furthermore, it can be seen that on the bottom 12, the Velcro arrangements 43 for fixing the top 35 of the seat cushion 4 covering fabric 44, which extends into the region of the bottom 12, are arranged. Further Velcro strips 42 serve to fix the seat cushion 4 on the frame parts 45 d it support structure 5.
This embodiment of the seat cushion 4 with its support member 7 and the attachment part 8 offers great advantages in terms of ongoing maintenance of these highly stressed seats, since the individual elements in the event of damage, quickly replaced, as it also represents no great effort, especially the attachment part 8 at short intervals to supply a cleaning. The replacement requires only a small amount of time and no specialist personnel as well as further tools are not required. In addition, the higher wear underlying essay parts 8 can be replaced while maintaining the support member 7 and thus the total cost of the seat cushion over the life of an aircraft can be reduced. Benefits brings this division of .Sitzpolsters in attachment and support part also by the fact that, for example, the support member can be produced in very large numbers in industrial mass production un d is then provided depending on the purpose with the designed for the desired type of seat cushion attachment part.
6 shows a further embodiment variant of the seat cushion 4 formed from the support part 7 and the attachment part 8, wherein the same reference numerals as in the preceding figures are used for the same parts. The attachment 8 has the Fiarnmschutzschicht 36 which overlaps the support member 7 into the region of the bottom 12, wherein on the bottom 12 and on the underside 12 covering cover fabric 16 Velcro fastened 41, in particular glued, welded, etc. which cooperate with Velcro strips 42 which are arranged on the flame retardant layer. This ensures that the flame retardant layer covers the support part 7 into the region of the underside 12 and thereby no openings on the side edges 14 or End edges 10,15 arise, which is also in these areas intrusion v on flames in case of fire is effectively prevented. The flame retardant layer 36 is further covered by the cover fabric 44, which is attached via the Velcro barrier 43, which are also arranged on the bottom 12 opposite the Velcro straps 41,42 adjacent to a central axis 48, attached.
FIG. 7 shows a further embodiment variant of the seat cushion 4, the same reference numerals being used for the same parts as in the preceding figures. In this embodiment, the support member 7 at the bottom 12 with the flame retardant layer 36, z. B. the flame-retardant foam plastic 38 and the foam plastic 33 of the support member 7 associated intermediate layer 37 is provided, which at the side edges 14, but also the end edges 10,15 the support member 7 by a thickness
AT 399 488 Β of the attachment part 8 in the direction of the top 35 surmounted. The attachment 8 has at its top 35 facing Verbindungsfläc he 40, the intermediate layer 37 and formed from the flame-retardant foam plastic 38 flame retardant layer 36 on the side edges 14 and End edges 10,15 according to the outer contour of the support member 7 end. The arranged on the top 35 of the Tragteiis 7 fabric 44 overlaps the side edges 14 and End edges 10,15 in the direction of the bottom 12 of the support member 7 and is by means of the side edges 14 and End edges 10,15 arranged Velcro arrangements attached to the support member 7.
This embodiment allows an exchange of the attachment part, wherein the arrangement of the
Velcro arrangements 43 in the region of the side edges 14 and End edges 10,15 a rapid disassembly is possible because the areas of the hard to reach bottom 12 no fixing devices or Velcro arrangements 43 for the fabric 44 have. Furthermore, it is possible in this embodiment, to additional fixing z wipe the support member 7 and the attachment part 8 and make the attachment of these elements to each other by the up to the area of the bottom 12 overlapping cover fabric 44 with the Velcro tape 43. As a result, a further simplification in the production of the seat cushion 4 is achieved, whereby this represents a very cost-effective solution.
Finally, it should be noted that, of course, the arrangement of the spring core is not bound to the position shown in the figures, but the spring core rather any area of the support member, if necessary, with distributed over the cross section different Höhenbzw. Strength values or spring forces may be provided. The other can also the design of the individual layers, the use of different raw materials for the plastic foams and the like. can be modified to suit different needs.
The support body 6, which is formed from the support member 7 and the attachment part 8, may preferably be formed from the bottom 12 in the direction of the top side 35 of foam plastic with different density, preferably in the direction of the top 35 of the foam plastic has a lower density in general the volume weight of the foam plastic preferably used for the support body 6 is 20 kg / m3 up to 80 kg / m3, The flame retardant layer 36 may be formed over the described embodiment with the flame retardant foam plastic of the intermediate layer 37 and the flame retardant fabric 16, 44 addition only by a flame retardant fabric 44 and the flame retardant fabric 44 in conjunction with the high temperature resistant fibers or filaments intermediate layer , This flame retardant layer 36 may be arranged on the support part 7 and / or the attachment part 8.
For the sake of order It should be noted that for a better understanding of the invention, the seat cushion 4 shown in the drawings have been shown partially disproportionate and partially to scale. Individual features of the described embodiments of the seat cushion 4 can also be independent solutions according to the invention.
