Multiple-band antenna with shared slot structure

A multiband antenna (10) having first and second operating frequency, comprising a first patch structure (12) and a second patch structure (14) electrically coupled to the first patch structure, further comprising the multiband antenna bands : one disposed between a first portion of the first patch structure and the second patch structure first slot structure (16) having a distal end portion and a proximal end portion; and a second slot structure (18) disposed between a second portion of the first patch structure and the second patch structure having a distal end portion and a proximal end portion; and characterized in that the end portions proximal of said first structures and second grooves have parallel sides and extending perpendicularly from a first side to a second opposite side of the antenna and are substantially parallel to each other, the distal end portions of said first structure and second grooves extend from respective proximal end portions, diverge from one another from the proximal end portions towards the second side and having straight sides, and one of said distal end portions having substantially parallel sides.
