(54) FRAMEWORK FOR KNOBS OF MESSAGING TECHNOLOGY (57) A holder (3) with extendable cable boxes (4) is fixed above the appliance inserts (2) in the frame (1), in which excess lengths of optical fibers (8) are accommodated go to the device inserts (2). They are guided individually or in each case via a roller (6) which is attached to the one side wall of a cable box (4) forming the plate (11). The inlet and outlet of the roll (7) cross each other.

The invention relates to a frame of communications engineering according to the preamble of claim 1.
Such racks are standardized under the designation type 7R at the German Federal Post at the supports or spars of the frame at the required distance superimposed Einsatzaufhahmen which are equipped with guide rails for insertion of equipment inserts and with connectors on which on the one hand come in the frame incoming cables and on the other hand, are in contact with the connectors of an inserted device insert. All office and connection cables are routed via a cable grate which is mounted above the racks, so that the cables in the racks usually always arrive from above.
After the optical fibers have found their way into communications technology, they are contained in the cabling of the racks next to the node conductors. In contrast to these, however, the optical waveguides must not be subjected to tensile and bending stresses, which makes cable routing difficult. The optical fibers coming from the cable grids are therefore initially guided in the frame head into a special assembly which has several cassettes which can be swiveled out of the frame and removed from the frame by one axis Each cartridge contains a large round lug for winding excess length of an optical fiber. The diameter of this approach or winding head takes up almost the depth of the cassette. The end of the optical waveguide is guided from the winding head to a connection arranged directly under the cassette with the rack cable. (Philips Telecommunication Review, Vol. 40, no. 3, Sept. 1982, page 223).
The invention has for its object to provide a different, simple arrangement, which makes it possible to wind cable excess length without risk of buckling and continue without further connectors in the frame to the Einsatzaufhahmen for the equipment inserts. This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Advantageous developments can be found in the dependent claims.
The invention will be described in detail with reference to an embodiment which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings. The figure shows a section of frames of telecommunications with holders for pull-out cable boxes for optical fibers in perspective view.
The racks (1) are shown in phantom and contain in the head holder (3) for cable boxes (4). Under a holder (3) each close to the device inserts (2) of this frame, which are also indicated only by dash-dotted lines. From a above the frames (1) visible cable channel (10) optical waveguide (8) are guided in the cable boxes (4) and wound on a roller (6) of the roller (6), the optical waveguides (8) are continued to the insert receptacles for the appliance inserts (2), where they end at connectors (not shown).
The holder (3) constitutes a sheet metal housing which is open from the rear and which is fastened to the frame (1) by means of two flanges (18). It contains several cable boxes (4) side by side. From the cover plate (13) of the holder (3) at the front edge tongues (14) are cut free, each having a detent (17) at the free end, which engages in the inserted cable box (4) in front of the front panel (9). Each cable box can accommodate one or more optical fibers (8) in lengths up to several meters, thus determining the size of the coil (7). Each optical waveguide (8) is wound at least once around the roller (6), with inlets and outlets crossing. The lengths to be inserted depend on the position of the device insert, the size and the overall length of the optical waveguide used.
The cable box (4) represents an extendable insert, which from a rectangular or square plate (11) is formed, in the middle of which the roller (6) is rotatably mounted. The plate (11) forms the one side wall of the cable box and has as a stiffening a circumferential right-angled edge (15), the back only for the passage of the optical waveguide (8) has an interruption (16) and front side, the front plate (9) with a pull handle (5) forms, which closes in the inserted state together with the front panels of the adjacent cable boxes the front of the holder (3). The free end face of the roller (6) is provided with a plate (12) which is four or polygonal and larger than the roller diameter. It is helpful as a limitation of the winding space and as a handle when winding.
In the figure, a cable box (4) is shown in the extended state. When inserted, the arrows indicate the movements of cable box, roller (6) and fiber optic strands (8). While the upper strand is being wound, the lower one is unwound from the roll. When pulling out the cable box (4) from the holder (3), the movements run against the arrows. The roller (6) ensures that a looping of the optical waveguide between the cable channel (10) and cable box (4) is excluded. With simple handling so that the damage of the optical fibers is safely avoided.
In the event that the cable including the optical fiber (8) not above the racks (1), but z. B. in foot channels underneath and ascend accordingly in the racks, the cable boxes (4) are advantageously used in the lower part of the racks. The mode of action is the same as in the previously described type of installation.
