An inflatable cellular cushioning article having a plurality of inflatable chambers, each chamber comprising a plurality of inflatable cells connected in series to each other, the article is made from a first multilayer film having a weight per unit of 20 to 250 grams per meter square, sealed with itself or a second sheet having a basis weight of 20 to 250 grams per square meter, in which the first and second sheets each contain an outer sealing layer, a barrier layer to gas and a bonding layer between the sealing layer and the impermeable layer to the gas, a) the bonding layer is formed by an anhydride modified olefin polymer containing anhydride at a level of at least 150 ppm, amount based on the weight of modified olefin polymer, barrier layers containing recycled polyester, or b) the bonding layer is formed by an anhydride modified olefin polymer containing anhydride at a level of 150 to 1000 ppm, amount based on the weight of the olefin polymer modified are excluded .
