The invention relates to a coil for winding elongated, flexible goods, such. B. of cables, pipes, pipes od. the like., with two disc-shaped flanges and a core connected to the flanges, which consists of a single blank of cardboard, of which two opposite edges are connected together along a generatrix of the core, and which is provided with tabs on both sides, which are each plugged through two slot-shaped openings for anchoring to the flanges, seen in the radial direction are provided one behind the other in the flanges and extend with their longitudinal direction perpendicular to the radial direction, wherein the tabs are correspondingly folded twice and hook-like widened at their ends and are hooked with these hook-like widened ends in the radially inner slot-shaped openings.
From the AT-PS 328 345 and 341 606 coils made of plastic with a tubular core and separate disc-shaped flanges, also known as end plates, known Here, the tubular coil core is connected to the flanges, for example via a snap connection or via a screw. Although this known multi-part coil design simplifies compared to one-piece coils production, especially in an injection molding process, nonetheless continue to exist, as well as the one-piece coils, bulky parts that hinders the return of the empty coils as well as the storage of empty coils Furthermore, from Disadvantage that the areas provided for the connection of core and flanges easily turn off.
With regard to the space requirement, demountable drums, bobbins or reels have also been proposed, cf. the AT-PS 328 531.199 722.66 000 and 33 042, but also FR-PS 2 338 218 and GB-PS 1 311 704. This results in the collapsible training throughout with respect to the connection of the individual parts complex structures whose Application is usually not justified, at least for smaller than transport means to be used coils or drums
Coils have also already been proposed in which a spool core, in particular of a single cardboard blank, is provided, which has tabs which are inserted into corresponding openings in the flanges in order to assemble the spool, cf. For example, U.S. Patent Nos. 3,537,667 and 3,817,475. However, only an unreliable fixation of the coil core is achieved at the flanges and therefore it must therefore be taken additional measures for a reliable connection between these parts in the rule.
From US-PS 3,876,073, finally, a coil of the type specified is known which consists entirely of corrugated cardboard and in the assembling of the coil protruding from the Kem cardboard blank tabs inserted through outer slots in the flanges and with widened ends in the inner Slits are hooked. (A similar coil formation is otherwise shown in U.S. Patent No. 4,244,538.) However, this hooking of the wide-hooked tab ends is problematic because the latter are deformed upon forcible passage through the inner slots, which is easy in the material of the tabs, namely paperboard can cause the tab ends are kinked or torn and thus do not have sufficient support on the flange. Consequently, their insertion and entanglement is cumbersome, and there is a risk of damage to the tabs with the consequent risk of unreliable connection.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a coil of the type mentioned in such a way that not only a cheap, simple design and manufacture and thereby a storage and an empty reel return transport with minimal space are possible, but in particular a trouble-free, reliable, firm connection of spool core and spool flanges can be achieved with the simplest possible means.
For this purpose, the inventive coil of the type mentioned is characterized by in that the radially further inwardly lying slot-shaped openings in the preferably made of plastic flanges at their approximately radial narrow sides radially inwardly, especially step-shaped, narrow, and that the tabs with the hook-like widened ends fit through the wider area of the inner slot-shaped openings and are hooked in the narrower area of the inner slot-shaped openings.
With such a configuration, the above object is met in a particularly advantageous manner, and it is characterized by a particularly simple procedure when inserting the tabs in the openings and when hooking therein, thus during assembly of the coil, from. In particular, in this way, the assembly of the coil without tools within a very short time manually possible. On the other hand, if desired, also a mechanical assembly of the coils is possible if the coils are produced in large quantities or to be assembled, wherein the tabs folded in in a known manner from the folding of cardboard boxes, for example, using guide and inclined sliding surfaces through the openings. Due to the inherent elasticity of the cardboard flaps, these catch themselves when they plug in the outer barb-like widened ends in the radially inner slots according to their narrowing automatically.
For this automatic var hooking, it is furthermore particularly advantageous if an undercut for hooking the wido-hook-like widened end of the tab is provided on each flange inside in the region of the stepped constriction of the inner slot-shaped openings
To any projection of the voltage applied to the outer sides of the flanges tabs and thus the possible risk of getting these tabs on any edges u. Likewise, it is also favorable,
-2AT393494B if in the flange outer side recesses are provided for receiving the tabs, whereby the tabs are within the outer contour of the flanges. With such a configuration, a coaxial stacking of the coils one above the other is possible without difficulty.
In connection with all of these embodiments and shapes of the flanges according to the invention, their preferred manufacture from plastic is of importance. The disc-shaped flanges can be made in particular of cheap plastic waste, such as polyurethane or polystyrene. For example, they can be made of rigid polyurethane foam or Structural foam exist to achieve an extremely low weight. Of course, these disc-shaped flanges can also be stacked in an extremely space-saving manner, like the Kem individual blanks. If a bobbin is needed, since core of cardboard, especially corrugated cardboard, as mentioned simply by inserting its tabs in the openings provided in the flanges with these flanges are assembled to the coil, which can be accomplished without tools in a very short time. For the return transport, the coil is disassembled again, in particular, the Kem of cardboard can be destroyed as a disposable part (burned), so that only the flanges of the coil are transported back, which is associated with an extremely low load space requirement. In this context, it should also be mentioned that the anchoring of the tabs on the flanges is such that they can not be easily solved by the respective flange, the tabs are rather torn when disassembling the coil better.
For special applications, the disc-shaped flanges could except plastic and other solid materials such. B. from light metal alloys u. Like., Consist. Preferably, these flanges are produced by injection molding, as is known per se.
The invention is particularly suitable for coils of average size, such as coils, in which the flanges have a diameter of 40 cm. The axial length of the core can - be selected depending on the required filling volume - with fixed core and flange diameters, and it is for example 30 cm to 50 cm.
The invention also relates to a disc-shaped flange for a coil according to the invention, with multiple, pairs of slot-shaped openings distributed at equal angles, wherein the slot-shaped openings of a pair are in radial alignment one after the other and with their longitudinal direction perpendicular to a common, run through their centers running radius, and this flange is characterized that the radially inner slot-shaped opening of each pair narrows radially inwardly in a stepped manner on the narrow sides
The invention will be further explained below with reference to the drawing, particularly preferred embodiments illustrated in more detail in the drawing:

In Fig. 1 is generally a coil (1) for winding elongated goods, such as cables, hoses, lines u. Like., This coil (1) consists of two circular disc-shaped flanges (2,3) and a polyhedral core (4) This Kon (4) consists, as will be explained in more detail below, from a cardboard blank, the corresponding the polygonal shape of the core several times, z. B. eightfold, folded around the individual, For example, to obtain eight shell side surfaces (5) of the core (4), and joined together along a surface line or side edge (6) of the core with two edges to the core hollow body. The core (4) then has several on each side, for example, four, Flaps (7), each by two slit-shaped openings (8, FIG. 9) in the flanges (2, 3) are plugged and thereby folded twice and are hooked in the radially inner slot-shaped opening (9), as described below with reference to FIG. 2 to 5 is explained in more detail. Incidentally, each flange (2) or (3) a central circular Lageröffhung (10) (see. FIG. 3) to put the spool (1) on an axle and to be able to rotate for winding or unwinding of the elongated goods transported on her.
The disc-shaped flanges (2, 3) can be made completely identical, and accordingly, in FIGS. 2 to 5 as an embodiment of only one of these flanges, z. B. the flange (2), shown in more detail. From Fig. 2 and 3 it can be seen that each flange, such as the flange (2), on one side, the outer side (11), with different projecting ribs, strips u. like. Projections, in particular a flange-like widened edge (12) and radial ribs (13) and around different holes (14) and the middle Lageröffhung (10) provided thickenings (15) is provided, whereas the other side, the inside (16) (Fig. 3), is substantially even in particular is on the outer side (11) adjacent to the respective radially outer, longer slot-shaped openings (8) a projecting strip (17) of
-3AT393 494B slightly lower height (see Fig. 3) is provided, and outside of these outer slot-shaped openings (8) is a polygon formed by merging straight strip portions (18), in particular from FIG. 2 is apparent. In the present example, these strips (18) define an octagon corresponding to the octagonal core (4) (in FIG. 1). The outer openings (8) are formed by substantially right-angled narrow slits whose width is approximately equal to the thickness of cardboard of the core (4) and whose length is approximately equal to the maximum width of the tabs (7). By contrast, the slot openings (9) lying radially inwardly are approximately twice as wide as the outer slot-shaped openings (8), ie. H. is twice as wide as the thickness of the cardboard of the core (4), and the slot length of the inner slot-shaped Öffnungen (9) is in terms of location in the flange (2) radially further inside shorter than the slot length of the outer openings (8), wherein correspondingly the tabs (7) taper in a trapezoidal shape, as can be seen from FIG. 1 and in particular from the yet to be explained Fig. 6 The inner slot-shaped openings (9) narrows radially inwardly, in the illustrated example in the form of a step (19), which are provided approximately in the middle da slot width at the two narrow sides da respective slot-shaped openings (9). These step-shaped constrictions (19) serve in connection with the wider configuration of the inner slot-shaped openings (9) for hooking barb-shaped widened ends (20) of the tabs (7), as shown in FIG. 6 shown and schematically in FIG. 4 It is further shown that the respective tab (7) comes to lie with a short neck portion (21) with zueinanda parallel side edges within da inner slot-shaped opening (9), whereas the trapezoidal tapered portion (22) which adjoins the outer side (11) of the respective flange (2) (see FIG. 3). In the region of the stepped constriction (19) is a particular from FIG. 4 and 5 visible undercut (23) on the inside (16) of the flange (2) provided so as to a particularly safe Vahaken the tab (7) with its widened end (20) on an inclined surface (24) of this Hinter-cutting (23 ) at the step (19).
In the Figs. 6 to 8 a corrugated cardboard single blank (25) is shown, since it is used to form the respective core (4). It can be seen that from one of the Kem circumferential surface with the eight side surfaces (5) and an overlapping portion (26) containing median strip (27), in Quemchtung by a plurality, corresponding in their number the number of corners of the polygonal cross-section of the core fold lines (28) (here eight folding lines) is divided, on both longitudinal sides of the tabs (7) (here four tabs (7)) protrude. The central strip (27) thus consists of eight shell side surfaces for the core (4) and an overlapping portion (26), which is intended for connection to the present at the other end of the strip (27) side surface portion (5), wherein further each second lateral side surface portion (5) is slightly longer than the others and passes over a fold line (29) in the respective tab (7). The at (30) in Fig. 6 illustrated length oversize diesa each second side surface portions (5) corresponds approximately to the material thickness of the flanges (2 and 3) in the area da strip (17) (see FIG. 3), so as to allow a pushing through the tabs (7) through the outer openings (8) and a bending oda folding on there outside, corresponding to the fold lines (29). Between the trapezoidal sections (22) and the short neck sections (21) is provided a further fold line (30) around which the outer tab sections (20, 21) with the barb-like widened end (20) when inserted into the inner openings (9). folded oda be folded.
Such a cardboard single blank (25) can be easily, quickly and inexpensively manufactured, and it can be supplied in particular in the flat state and kept in stock, so that hardly any storage space is needed. It is also possible to store the blank (25) already in a condition prepared for the formation of the respective core (4), in which the overlapping portion (26) already with the side surface portion (5) on the opposite side, in particular by stapling, connected under mutual overlap, whereby a self-contained unit is obtained, which nonetheless can be kept flat by folding in the groove of two folding lines (28).
The connection of the blank (25) to the two opposite Endbaeichen or longitudinal edges, in particular with an overlap portion (26), can also follow by gluing. It is also conceivable, in particular, to design the overlapping section (26) narrower than illustrated, for example in order to save material. The in Fig. 6 However, the illustrated embodiment has the advantage that the blank (25) is completely symmetrical, so that the overlapping portion (26) is completely equivalent to a side surface portion (5), in other words that shown in FIG. 6 upper portion (5) can come to lie below or within the lower portion (26) when connecting, which means that the in Fig. 6 below overlapping portion (26) and the above-described side surface portion (5) have been reversed in their function. Such interchangeability would not be self-evident with a narrower overlap portion (26) unless one accepts an uneven surface of the spool core (4).
In Fig. 9 FIG. 3 schematically shows a side view of a modified coil in which the core (4) is hexagonal in cross-section, rather than hexagonal in cross-section as shown in FIG. 1 shown is octagonal, and in which accordingly three tabs (7) on each side by in the flanges, z. B. (2), provided in pairs slit-shaped openings (8,9) inserted and thereby in the respective inner opening (9) are hooked in a similar manner as explained above. The tabs (7) have in each case again flush against the outside of the flange, Trapezoidal narrowing sections (22), the converging side edges (32, 33) of said trapezoidal sections (22) of the La-4AT393 494B (7) lie on radial lines (34), so that in each case a trapezoidal section (22) of a tab (7) lies in a circular sector (35) with a central angle of 60 °. There are a total of six such sectors (35), and in each second sector (35) is a tab (7) or their trapezoidal section (22) in front, and the intermediate sectors (35) are free. In these intermediate sectors (35), the stacking of a plurality of coils (1), the trapezoidal sections (22) of the tabs (7) of adjacent coils (1) come to rest, as shown in FIG. 9 with dashed line at (36) is indicated in which case, when the tabs (7) slightly above the outer surface da flanges (2) (or. (3)), a security or locking against twisting of the stacked coils by these interlocking tab portions (22) is achieved.
In Fig. 10 is finally an opposite Fig. 6 modified individual blank (25) for the formation of a coil core, said individual blank (25) made of cardboard from the blank of FIG. 6 insofar different than each four tabs on one side of the center strip (27) opposite the four tabs on the other side are arranged offset by one side surface width. This can when punching the blanks (25) of cardboard webs o. like. be advantageous because material can be saved by the fact that the tabs (7) of adjacent blanks (25) mesh comb-like, as shown in FIG. 10 indicated by dash-dotted lines. Nonetheless, in assembling the coils, identical flanges may still be provided to each other, such as because of FIG. 2 to 5 described flange can be used.
Moreover, the individual blank according to FIG. 10 corresponds to that according to FIG. 6, so that it is not necessary to make any further description.
While the invention has been described above with reference to particularly preferred embodiments, it should be understood that other modifications and variations are possible without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, it is also conceivable, in particular, to provide other polygonal cross-sectional shapes for the core (4), such as a ten-cornered cross-sectional configuration, even if the octagonal configuration is preferred. Also, for example, the tabs may be formed with rectangular rather than trapezoidal portions (22), which means that the outer slot openings (8) would be the same length as the inner slot openings (9); the slit openings (8, 9) can also be closer to one another than shown, wherein, in particular, the inner slot openings (9) would have to be provided further radially outward than, for example, in FIG. 1 or 2 is illustrated; the portions (22) would also be provided in this case with a smaller width than the width da mantle side surface portions (5), to ensure that in the circumferential direction between the inner slot openings (9) sufficient material for the desired strength of the disc-shaped Flanges (2,3) remains.
In order to allow different filling volumes, the length of the core is expediently varied, so that coils of different filling volumes can be produced with differently wide individual blanks, in which, however, the tab formation remains the same, and with the same disc-shaped flanges.
