The invention relates to an editing control device for controlling a video signal playback device with a first tape position sensing device and a device for recording and reproducing video signals, which has a second tape position sensing device, with a memory for storing address data, which is the point of incision in the video signal playback device or Identify video tapes arranged in the device for recording and reproducing video signals and for storing address data which identify a cut-out point on at least one of the video tapes, a control device which controls the video signal reproducing device and the device for recording and reproducing video signals, that the video tapes are synchronized with each other under the control of the address data and the output signals of the first tape position scanner and the second tape position scanner from the cut points to the cut points, a switch for transmitting one of £
Video signal reproducing apparatus, reproduced video signal to the apparatus for recording and reproducing video signals to record the video signal on the second video tape, a selection key for selecting the preview mode or the browsing mode, wherein in the preview mode before the dubbing, the first and second video tapes are transported by the control device from the cut points to the cut points and the video signal on the first or on the second video tape is reproduced by the video signal reproducing device or by the device for recording and reproducing video signals, and wherein in the removal mode after the dubbing process, at least the second video tape from the control device from Cut point transported to the cut point and the video signal is reproduced on the second video tape by the device for recording and playback of video signals.
Until now, the production of a video tape recorded with a program has been common, with a number of original scenes from video tapes being electronically cut.
In order to be able to carry out the video tape editing, it is known that an editing controller and at least two video tape devices are required.
The cutting controller normally has a microprocessor, the cutting process being guided by a cutting program which is written into a memory which can only be read out.
Needless to say, the most important point of the cutting process is the continuity of the cut image at the cut and cut points of the programmed video tape.
In order to study cutting, the cut control is equipped so that the programmed image can be previewed before the cutting process is actually carried out.
If the incision point is to be changed during the preview operation in a conventional cutting control, several buttons must be pressed in order to rewind the tape and to advance it again to the incision point.
The determination of the interface is a very critical process. Such processes often have to be repeated two or three times in order to determine an incision point.
Furthermore, with a conventional cut control, various key presses are required after the incision point has been determined in order to check the cut point.
With normal video tape editing, even with video scenes with a playing time of ten minutes, more than ten interfaces have to be determined. For editing control, it is desirable that the number of key presses can be reduced as much as possible.
The object of the invention is to provide a cutting control device which avoids the disadvantages of conventional devices described above and in which access to a specific tape location is possible by a simple button operation in order to check a cutting condition or to change the interface.
This object is achieved according to the invention in an editing control device of the type mentioned at the outset in that an interruption signal is emitted to the control device by means of a return jump button, whereupon the first and second video tapes are rewound to a point just before the cutting point after the cutting point in the preview mode was reached or the second video tape is fast-forwarded to a tape position just before the cutting point in comparison to the normal playback speed after the cutting point has been reached in the extraction mode, that an escape memory stores the address data stored in the memory when the video tapes are advanced over the cutting and cutting points , the address data stored in the memory being stored in the escape memory, and that when the extraction mode is selected by the selection button, the data stored in the escape memory are returned to the memory.
If the operator discovers during the preview that the continuity of the cut «?
Video image before and after the incision site is abnormal, the operator presses the button to rewind the tape to the incision site and stop there. If the operator presses the button while viewing, the tape jumps at a high speed to a position about five seconds before the cut point, whereupon the tape is played to the cut point at normal speed so that the continuity of the video image before and after the cutting point can be checked.
After the address data representing the next cut point and cut point is input into the memory, the video signals can be between the previous cut point and the previous cut point without reproducing the previous cut point and

Address data representing the cut-out point can be copied into the memory.

Furthermore, a search wheel (36R) is arranged to arbitrarily change the tape speed and the tape running direction, whereby the interface can be easily determined. The playback when searching the interface can namely be carried out with a search button (35R) and the search wheel (36R). A recording button (37) is provided in the R-video tape device, but the P-video tape device (2) does not have it. Furthermore, the R-video tape device (1) has a cut button (38) for manual editing.

Furthermore, a preview button (56), a rewind / jump button (57), a preview button (58), a self-cut button (59) and an end button (60) are arranged on the side of the displays ( 21R) and (21P), reset buttons (61R) and (61P) are arranged to reset the memories, as will be described later.
The cut control device according to this invention is controlled by the microprocessor program. To do that
In order to facilitate understanding of the operation of the device, the main counters, registers etc., which are arranged in the RAM part of the memory (5), are described in connection with FIG. 3.
-3AT393 058B
In Fig. 3 counters, registers, etc. are provided for the R-video tape device (1) and the P-video tape device (2). A display register (70R) is arranged for the display (21R). Another display register (70P) is provided for the display (21P). As mentioned above, in the editing control device, CTL pulses (30 Hz at the normal tape running speed) are used as reference signals and are counted by the CTL counters (71R) and (71P)
The CTL counter (71R) for the R video tape recorder (1) receives CTL pulses generated by a CTL head (72R) in the R video tape recorder (1) and operates as an up-down counter. The counting direction of the CTL counter (71R) is determined by the handrail direction. For this purpose, the R-video tape device (1) delivers a tape direction status signal via an input (79R) for the CTL counter (71R)
Similarly, the CTL counter (71P) receives CTL pulses which are reproduced by a CTL head (72P) in the P-video tape recorder (2).
ON memories (73R) and (73P) and OFF memories (74R) and (74P), which are used to store the incision (ON) and cutout (OFF) positions, are for the R-video tape device (1) or P-video tape device (2) arranged. Volatile ON memories (75R) and (75P) are provided for the ON memories (73R) and (73P). Volatile OFF memories (76R) and (76P) are arranged for the OFF memories (74R) and (74P), respectively
Comparators (77R) and (77P) are also provided to distinguish the interfaces. Clock signals are obtained from the outputs (78R) and (78P) of the comparators (77R) and (77P) in accordance with the cutting modes. The reset buttons (61R) and (61P), which were described in connection with Fig. 2, are connected to all the counters and memories of the corresponding video tape devices (1) and (2). The contents of the counters and memories are cleared with the reset buttons (61R) and (61P)
In the editing control device according to this embodiment, the operation of the R-video tape device (1) is the same as that of the P-video tape device (2). For this reason, the operation of the P-video tape device (2) will be described essentially later.
First press the assemble button (50) or the insert button (51V) to select the desired editing mode. In the compounding operation, images from an incision point are strung together in a post-recording operation. In the insertion mode, a new image is inserted into a previously recorded tape in a playback mode without deleting the CTL pulses. In Fig. 2nd the insert keys (51A1) and (51A2) are provided for sound signals, the description of which is omitted here.
After the assemble button (50) is depressed to select the editing mode, the search button (35P) is pressed to switch the P-video tape recorder (2) to the playback search mode. The start of the cut is then searched for using the search wheel (36P). By depressing the search button (35P), the microprocessor stage (4) delivers a search operation command via the video tape device coupling stage (3) to the P video tape device (2) and via the video tape device coupling stage (3), a switching signal for the video switching stage (10), Video tape device (2) reproduced video signals to the monitor (IIP). As a result, the images from the video tape of the P-video tape device (2) become visible on the monitor (IIP) while the video tape of the P-video tape device (2) is moved forward or backward by the search wheel (36P). Normally, the tape becomes in the playback search mode of the video tape device transported by a belt drive shaft and a drive roller When the belt stops, the belt remains caught between the belt drive shaft and the pressure roller. If the tape drive shaft and the drive roller are separated from each other, the tape relaxes, so that there is a risk that the particular location is displaced. For this reason, the interface should always be determined in search mode.
In the P-video tape device (2), the CTL pulses from the tape are reproduced via the CTL head (72P) during the search mode and are applied to the memory (5) via the video tape device coupling stage (3) and the microprocessor stage (4). They are counted by the CTL counter (71P), which is arranged in the memory (5), under the control of the microprocessor stage (4). The output of the BTL counter (71P) is then applied to the display register (70P). The counted number is converted into hours, minutes, seconds and frames. This is shown to show the tape position on the display (21P). The particular interface stored in the ON memory (73P) is cleared by pressing the reset key (61P). For this reason, the reset button (61P) must not be pressed until a series of cutting operations has been completed. When a desired incision or ON location has been determined, the search wheel (36P) is returned to the O position to stop the tape. Then the enter key (52P) and the ON key (53P) are pressed simultaneously. The content of the CTL counter (71P) is stored in the ON memory (73P) by the command of the microprocessor stage (4). At the same time, the memory input indicator (22P) stops flashing and lights up to indicate that the ON position has been saved. Now a cut-out position or OFF position is determined in the same way. Then the enter key (52P) and the OFF key (54P) are pressed simultaneously to store the content of the CTL counter (71P) in the OFF memory (74P). save. The memory input indicator (23P) stops flashing and lights up to indicate that the OFF position has been saved.
In actual operation, the cut-out point is only determined for one of the video tape devices (1) and (2).
It is not always necessary to determine the cutout locations for both video tape devices.
-4AT 393 058 B
After the ON position and the OFF position have been determined and stored, the self-cut button (59) is pressed to control the cut control device in accordance with the automatic cutting program by the microprocessor stage (4).
Fig. 4 shows the flowchart of the actual operation including the relationship between the tape positions and the time. In Fig. 4, the reference numerals (80P) and (80R) denote tape positions which are in the P-video tape device (2) and R-video tape device ( 1) are provided. The ON positions and OFF positions are determined for the belt parts (80P) and (80R). In the current cutting operation, video signals recorded in the area between the ON position and the OFF position of the tape part (80R) in the R video tape device (1) are deleted, and the video signals recorded in the area between the ON position and the OFF -Position of the tape part (80P) in the P-video tape device (2) are recorded in the deleted part of the tape part (80R) of the R-video tape device (1).
When the self-cut button (59) is pressed, the video tapes (80P) and (80R) run at high speed and stop 5 seconds before the ON positions in the video tape device (1) and (2). These locations are commonly referred to as pre-run locations. To determine the advance locations, the contents of the CTL counters (71P) and (71R) and the contents of the ON memories (73P) and (73R) are applied to the comparators (77P) and (77R). When the contents of the CTL counters (71P) and (71R) reach the value which corresponds to ((ON position) 5 seconds), the comparators (77P) and (77R) are obtained from the outputs (78P) and (78R) ) Stop commands.
After it has been confirmed that the tapes (80P) and (80R) of the video tape devices stop at the advance locations, the tapes (80P) and (80R) are transported to the ON locations at normal speed. When the contents of the counters (71P) and (71R) become equal to the contents of the ON memories (73P) and (73R), the comparators (77P) and (77R) receive cut commands from the outputs (78P) and (78R) . After the beginning of the cut, the R-video tape device (1) is switched to the recording mode and the video signals reproduced by the P-video tape device (2) are fed to the R-video tape device (1) for recording via the video switching stage (10). The video signals of the P-video tape device (2) are thus recorded on the video tape (88R) of the R-video tape device (1). After the cut start point has been run through, the microprocessor stage (4) generates a command to apply the contents of the OFF memories (74P) and (74R) to the comparators (77P) and (77R), respectively. When the contents of the OFF memories (74P) and (74R) become equal to the contents of the CTL counters (71P) and (71R), the comparators (77P) and (77R) are cut end instructions from the output (78P) and (78R) generated
With the cut end command, the R video tape device (1) ends the recording. The belt (80R) stops 2 seconds after the OFF position and returns to the OFF position. These operations are performed by the command signals obtained from the comparator (77R) on which the outputs of the CTL counter (71R) and the OFF memory (74R) are located. In the P-video tape recorder (2), the tape (80P) also stops 2 seconds after the OFF position and returns to the OFF position
Thus, the video signals between the ON position and the OFF position of the tape (80P) of the P-video tape device (2) are in the range between the ON position and the OFF position of the tape (80R) of the R-video tape device (1 ) used.
If the compound cut mode is selected by pressing the compound key (50), the R-video tape device (1) is controlled to stop recording 2 seconds after the OFF position if the cut end key (60) during the cutting operation is pressed, the video tape devices (1) and (2) end the cutting operation and one is forced to obtain a cut-out point.
In actual cutting operations, it is very difficult to determine the interfaces. The cut is usually rehearsed. There is no recording except for the actual recording process. The continuity of the cut video signals is monitored with the monitors (11R) and (IIP). For this purpose, the preview button (56) is provided. If the preview button is pressed after the interfaces have been determined, the processes which have been described in connection with FIG. 4 run in sequence. For example, the quality of the cut can be monitored on the recording-side monitor (11R).
Studying is therefore done by pressing the preview button (56). The interfaces change depending on the requirements of the event. The cut is then previewed again. After the interfaces have been finally determined, the self-cut button (59) is pressed in order to carry out the actual cutting process. This process is common in cutting operations.
When the actual cut is finished, the contents of the ON memories (73R) and (73P) and the OFF memories (74R) and (74P) are turned into the ON, "escape memories (75R) and (75P) and the OFF, respectively - Escape memory (76R) and (76P) pushed. The memory input indicators (22R), (22P), (23R) and (23P) stop lighting and flashing.
At this time, when the cut end key is pressed during the insert cutting operation or during the preview operation, the contents of the CTL counters (71P) and (71R) are stored in the OFF memories (74P) and (74R) as the OFF location.
When the result of the cut is to be checked, the look-up button (59) is pressed. The following
Operations are performed only for the R-video tape device (1)
-5AT393 058B
First, the contents of the ON escape memory (75R) and the OFF escape memory (76R) are returned to the ON memory (73) and OFF memory (74R). The tape runs in the same way as in the preview mode. The video signals on the video tape (80R) of the R-video tape device (1) are reproduced from 5 seconds before the ON position to 2 seconds after the OFF position. The result of the cut can be checked at once.
When the mining operation is finished, the contents of the OFF memory (74R) and the ON memory (73R) are shifted into the OFF escape memory (76R) and the ON escape memory (75R). When the preview button (56) or the auto cut button (59) is pressed in this state in which the indicators (22R) and (22P) for the ON memories (73R) and (73P) are flashing, or the ON digits are not yet determined, or after the self-cutting operation or the mining operation ends, the contents of the CTL counters (71R) and (71P) at this time are stored in the ON memories (73R) and (73P), and the previewing operation or Self-cutting operation begins
Normally, display registers (70R) and (70P) receive the contents of CTL memories (71R) and (71P). If only the ON buttons (53R) and (53P) are pressed, the contents of the ON memories (73R) and (73P) or the ON escape memories (75R) and (75P) that are stored in the ON memories ( 73R) and (73P) was shifted to the display registers (70R) and (70P).
If only the OFF buttons (54R) and (54P) are pressed, a similar operation is performed with respect to the OFF position. The trim buttons (55+) and (55-) are only effective if the ON button or OFF button is pressed at the same time. For example, when the ON key (53P) is pressed, the contents of the ON memory (73P) are displayed on the display (21P) via the display register (70P) as described above. When the trim button (55+) is pressed in this state, the number of frames corresponding to the number of operations is added to the content of the ON memory (73P). When the trim button (55-) is pressed, it is subtracted from the contents of the ON memory (73P). This allows the full screen number of the interface to be changed.
The operations described above are common. Further features and functional characteristics of the cutting control device according to this embodiment will now be described in order.
One of the functions is a warning to indicate a setting error of the interface. The relationship between the ON position and the OFF position should be as follows:
ON position <OFF position where the ON position and the OFF position represent the corresponding counted numbers of the CTL counter. If the interfaces are mistakenly set so that
Is ON position> OFF position, an automatic cutting operation or a preview operation cannot be performed and the input indicators (22R) and (23R) flash alternately to indicate the setting error.
These operations are described in connection with the flow chart of FIG. 5.
In step (1) it is first checked whether the ON position and the OFF position are determined or not, after which the program is started. If both the ON position and the OFF position are determined, it is checked in step (2) whether
ON position> OFF position applies or not. If
ON position <OFF position applies, a distinction is made in step (4) whether the self-cut key (59) or the preview key (56) are pressed or not. If the button (59) or (56) is pressed, a corresponding operation is carried out in step (6). The input indicators (22R) and (23R) light up. The river returns from step (8) to START.
-6AT393 058B
If
ON position> OFF position applies, the self-operation which is obtained by pressing the self-cutting key (59) or the preview key (56) is deleted in step (5) and the input displays (22R) and (23R ) flash alternately in step (7). To differentiate in step (2), the contents of the ON memory (73R) and the OFF memory (74R) are applied to the comparator (77R). The input display (22R) or (23R) for which the interface is determined lights up in step (9).
A rewind function will now be described, which is another feature of this embodiment
This function is obtained by pressing the rewind / jump button (57) after the tape has passed through the ON position in the preview mode, which is obtained by pressing the preview button (56). This ends the preview operation. The two tapes (80P) and (80R) of the P-video tape recorder (2) and R-video tape recorder (1) are rewound at high speed and stop at the ON positions. When the tape (80P) passes the ON location in the preview mode, the contents of the CIL counter (71P) and the OFF memory (74P) are applied to the comparator (77P).
However, the comparator (77P) is switched from the output of the OFF memory (74P) to the output of the ON memory (73P) by pressing the return / jump key (57). When the Rewind / Jump button (57) is pressed at the end of the self-cut, the data stored in the ON escape memory (75P) and the OFF escape memory (76P) as described above is transferred to the ON memory (73P). and the OFF memory (74P) is returned, and the tapes (80R) and (80P) of the R-video tape device (1) and the P-video tape device (2) are stopped at the ON positions.
The flow chart of Fig. 6 shows the rewind function described above. After START, a distinction is made in step (20) whether the rewind / jump button (57) is pressed or not. A further distinction is made in steps (21) and (23) whether the video tape device is in preview mode or at the end of the self-cut. In the preview mode, a distinction is made in step (22) as to whether the tape of the video tape device passes through the ON position or not. If it goes beyond the ON position, the video tape devices are reset to the ON positions at high speed in step (24). If the video tape device is at the self-cut end, the content of the ON and OFF escape memory is returned to the ON and OFF memory in step (25) and the video tape devices are returned to the ON positions
Since the device of this embodiment has the return function described above, it is not necessary to use the search wheel to find the incision point, for example if the interface starting point was set in preview mode or the interface starting point was changed after the interface starting point had been defined. Furthermore, if the cut is made again after the end of the self-cut, the device according to this embodiment is easy to operate.
A jump function is now described, which is another possibility offered by this embodiment
The jump function is used to check the OFF position after making the cut. The dismantling mode begins by pressing the look-down button (58). After the video tape (80R) of the R-video tape device (1) has passed the ON position, the rewind / jump button (57) is pressed. The tape (80R) is transported at a high speed to the point that corresponds to the point 5 seconds before the OFF point. At this time, the contents of the OFF memory (74R) and the BTL counter (71R) are applied to the comparator (77R), where they are compared with each other to find the cut-out location (OFF location). The image part 5 seconds before the OFF point to 2 seconds after this point is played back. The belt then returns to the OFF position and stops.
Fig. 7 shows a flow chart in which the jump function described above is shown. If only the incision point (ON position) and the cut-out point (OFF point) are to be checked, the OFF point can easily be found by only using the Confirmation of the ON position the Rewind / Jump button (57) is pressed. Even if the distance between the ON point and the OFF point is very large, the OFF point can be found in a very short time.
As described above, the tape in the video tape devices (1) and (2) is always pinched between the tape drive axis and the pinch roller to prevent the interfaces from deviating. The tapes are kept under tension on the head cylinder in which the rotating magnetic heads are arranged. When a predetermined period of time (e.g., 7 minutes) has passed after the tape stops, the pinch roller and the tape drive shaft are automatically separated from each other to release the tape tension. This prevents damage to the belt
Such a process is called automatic shutdown. However, this automatic switch-off is undesirable for the editing control device because the interface is moved. The automatic
Shutdown is therefore put out of operation in the cut control device of this embodiment in the following manner:
-7AT393 058 B
If the time to determine the intersection in the P-video tape recorder (2) becomes longer than 6 minutes with the R-video tape recorder (1) stopped, the R-video tape recorder (1) is given a minimum run command to prevent the automatic shutdown process. This prevents a displacement of the interface. Such a function represents a possibility of the cutting control device of this embodiment.
The function described above is shown in the flow chart of FIG. 8. After START, a step (30) differentiates whether the video tape devices (1) and (2) stand still or not. Then, in step (31), it is determined whether or not the interface is stored in the ON memory or OFF memory. If the video tape device is not at a standstill or if the interface has not yet been determined, a 6-minute timer becomes in the step (34) reset The 6-minute timer counts interruptions to the microprocessor stage (4) via the program. For this purpose, the pulses of the frequency divider (15) are applied to the microprocessor stage (4). If the video tape devices are in the idle mode and the interfaces are determined, it is confirmed in a step (32) that the timer is in the interrupt mode for a time longer than 6 Minutes. The minimum speed run command is then given to the appropriate video tape device in step (33). This prevents a shift in the interface which arises as a result of the automatic switch-off device which is provided in the video tape device itself.
