Drainage device for the treatment of wounds with application of a vacuum

Abstract

Device (100; 200; 300) drain for treating wounds using negative pressure, having: - an element (3) coating impermeable wound gas, comprising sheet material such that in the state which is applied to the patient is adhesively secured around the area of injury to the skin surface and form a space (5) of waterproofed wound, remains between the respective wound and the element (3) coating wounds, - at least one flexible tube (4) drain connectable to a means which generates the negative pressure, such as a pump (14) vacuum insertable located approximately in parallel to the element (3) wound covering in the space (5) wound, through which can evacuate the substances found in the space (5) wound, - and at least one body (2) absorption sucking the wound secretions disposed within the space (5) wound, characterized in that - the body (2) absorption is at least one layer (7) enclosed in a casing (6), a textile portion (33) interspersed with superabsorbent particles, being the casing (6) liquid permeable and having pores, whose size does not essentially exceed that of the superabsorbent particles, - the body (2) absorption to be placed in the space (5) wound has a volume (V1) initial, which increases during the absorption process and assumes a volume (V2) end, so that the secretions of the absorbed wound (depending on the pore size of the shell (11)) remain inside the body (2) absorption and therefore below the element (3) wound covering to the withdrawal of the absorption body space wound.
