System and method for accessing protected content in a rights-management architecture

A method for presenting content (16) stored in an encrypted format, said method comprising the acts of: issuing a first request to provide a key (14A) of content that makes it possible to decrypt said content; characterized by determining that said content key is sealed with a cryptographic metadata hash (12), metadata including information related to an authorized user of said content; issue a second request to provide said information related to the authorized user; unsealing the sealed content key using said information related to the authorized user; and decrypt the content with the unsealed content key.
