A method for receiving update data at a receiver (12) emission having at least one data receiving parameter comprising: designating (330) a channel to receive a broadcast transmission; receiving (500) the broadcast transmission including at least one broadcast receiver identifier, and a data update applications; and determining (520) if the at least one broadcast receiver identifier is associated with the at least one data receiving parameter of the broadcast receiver; characterized in that: the broadcast transmission further comprises a parameter data type and data profile update select (420) the channel containing broadcast transmission to a default for the update data default or for a period time ; extracting (610) the update data channel; determining (730) if the extracted data is data update profile or update data application based on the parameter data type in the update data, and storing (750, 770) the update data in the receiver (12 ) emission on the basis of the at least one broadcast receiver identifier and parameter data type.
